Hollon Safe FB-685C Oyster Series B-Rated 2 Hr Fireproof Security Safe Size: 2.36 Cu.Ft., Lock Type: Dial Combination Lock

I did a lot of research before deciding on this safe and found that most of the consumer safes are not actually safes, they are security containers. Not having a huge budget, this safe was the lowest cost safe I could find that has an actual burglary rating as well as a fire rating. I purchased the mechanical lock. Yes electronic is faster, but mechanical will last multiple lifetimes. The build quality is good, the finish is excellent and came on a pallet in perfect condition. My only complaint is the bolt "star" handle is rough and kind of sharp like it wasn't prepped for chrome plating properly or wasn't fully plated properly. I purchased a combo change key which is like $8 and changed the combo from the default. DO THIS WITH EXTREME CAUTION. One wrong move and you will have to have the safe drilled/cut open. All in all highly recommend for a budget burglary/fire safe.

I like the safe and it arrived unharmed on a pallet with no visible exterior damage. However the front lower lip had an obvious ding and the left interior shelf bracket holders have been crushed inwards a bit. This makes installation of the shelf brackets impossible at these points. Prying with a screw driver into proper shape was a suggestion from the factory. I may well try this, but that doesn't dodge the point this obviously left the factory in this shape. Things this big and heavy aren't easy to return so I'm left with a less than spiffy new safe that is otherwise sturdy and, well, safe.
