Review: Try it u wont b disappointed - Another great book the kids will love its simplicity as well as what tjey can create Review: Written with teaching in mind - This book understands how to teach! The games you end up with are also fun to play (even for adults). My son is very keen on scratch, so I've bought him a few books over the years. Some are dire, with content out of order/missing and things poorly explained. For these previous purchases my son just ended up copying the code without learning much, and often ending up with a project that didn't work! But not so for this book! Every project is simply laid out, with explanations of every step in the code. The games you end up with are fun and very customizable. Along with "code club book of scratch: volume 1" this is a book my son really got something out of.

Coding with Scratch by Max Wainewright
Another brilliant book from the series by Max Wainewright. I teach Scratch programming to children aged 6 to 14 years of age. The book is full of great ideas and connects directly to the statutory expectations of the National Curriculum in Computing for schools in England for KS2 (Primary Juniors) and transition into Secondary.

Wow
Just brilliant in every way. We got this for home educating my son on coding and only because we got the authors other book on how to code Platformer Games. Honestly these books are just brilliant. Buy one and you’ll understand how to code with the other anyway because the code is identical in parts. That’s the beauty of stuff like this; once you’re shown how to turn something 90 degrees and move it forward ten spaces; it doesn’t matter whether it’s a person, object or vehicle… so once you know the code for turning a character you know how to turn a car technically. Honestly this is just brilliant

Fun games and lots to learn!
This is a great book. Lots of games my kids want to make and actually play afterwards. It explains coding concepts clearly and shows kids how to create graphics in simple steps. Recommended!

I have been a computer science teacher which focuses mainly on coding and robotics in the middle school grades. This book has some lessons that are great for students to follow to create a program that works. The Scratch platform is a wonderful platform for the middle school aged student or child and Scratch is a free website, so children can even code at home using these books. If you are a teacher or a parent and want something to occupy your students/children without having to instruct one-on-one, this is a good option. Instructions are easy to follow.

My 6yr showed interest in wanting to learn how to make his own car game. This book is an awesome intro guide to beginning Scratch with the bonus of also making very cool car games! Will be purchasing more from this author for sure!

I bought this book as part of a coding unit for our homeschool. It’s a simple, step-by-step guide on how to make fun games in Scratch. My 7 year old needed some help navigating the program and selecting the right options, but my 9, 10, 12, 14, and 15 year olds could use them independently. They made some great games!
