What do you mean size 8.5 2e us?

My assumption is that the person asking the question is a foreigner, so based on that assumption I would venture to say the size indicated represents an extra wide 8 1/2 according to U.S. standards . Europeans use a different measurement system; what 8 1/2 is equivalent to in Europe is something I don't know but the questioner can easily find this out.

Is the sole of this shoe stitched on or not? Please indicate color of sole if not.

Not stitched on soles. Not true moccasin construction. Color of sole is dark brown. I owned these shoes also in the 1980s. They are the same. They were always cheap glued on soles of hard rubber that cracked after a year. They are the same. The brand is trying to position upscale, but the product never was. You have to pay more for the LL Bean Blucher moccasins. Those are the hand-made, moccasin constructed, stitched sole originals of this style. Or, you can look around and find some made in China, but better constructed. We used to wear these Eastlands sockless in the 80s in college. They were cheap then and still are now.

Are the soles sewn or glued?

I believe it is glued, but it is actually probably both glued and sewn. If you look at the picture of the bottom of the shoe, you can see a molded line, all the way around the sole, about 1/4” from the edge of the sole, which is where the stitching is usually placed.
