Torched this across the end of the driveway where it meets the road to keep water out. It is impressively thick and heavy. I used a "cooking" torch I bought on sale and it did the job. A bit of art involved in heating it to the melt/running point but you'll figure it out. The next day the tape was under an inch of water but it's still there. It has exceeded my expectations.

Folks, this stuff has proven to be infinitely superior to supposed crack fillers that are available at big box stores. I try to maintain the driveway and was using that trowel-on stuff for years. It never lasted more than a few months before disappearing. A pacing company quoted $5.00 per foot for crack repair which wouild have been prohibitively expensive. The EWT Asphalt tape has proven to be a viable alternative to professional crack repair at a fraction of the price. A few tips/observations: -I used a pressure washer to clean out the cracks and then filled them with fine sand. This tape is not structural and needs a solid base to sit over -It's not fun, however, it's easier to apply the tape when the driveway is hot during the middle of the day. The tape sticks right away. -The 2" tape is far easier to work with than 4". If you need to fill a wider crack with 2" tape, simply overlap the pieces to bridge the gap. The two pieces will weld into one under intense heat. -As for heat, I purchased this propane torch from Amazon and it has performed exceedingly well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFDNPXGC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 -Safety Advisory: This torch is no joke and is dang close to a flamethrower. Wear protective gear such as heavy work boots, gloves, eye glasses etc. Have a hose or bucket of water ready. Make sure that the torch head is kept away from the propane tank and the torch hose. I got too close to the hose at one point and nearly soiled myself. -Driveway cracks are rarely perfectly straight. Don't worry about cutting the tape to perfectly match the curves in a crack line, just get the tape over the crack itself, push down and it will melt down when heated -The tape can be heated to keep a raised profile over cracks or you can heat it until it flows down into a crack. I will never, ever again waste time or money on "crack filler" that they sell at big box stores. The EWT tape costs more but there is no doubt that it will last. You get what you pay for.

The product worked very well, even on my first try. It felt a little awkward for the first couple of minutes, but I quickly got the hang of it. Within minutes, I was laying the tape smoothly over driveway cracks and heating it with my propane torch—felt like I was repairing asphalt like a pro! The key is in the heating: once the tape develops a slight wavy, melted look, that’s the sweet spot. Just keep the torch moving slowly, let it start to melt, and move on. The application was straightforward once I found that balance. The durability looks promising so far—time will tell—but overall, I’m very impressed and highly recommend this product for asphalt crack repair.

Works great to seal smaller cracks in black top driveway. Easy install. Be sure to heat the product well to ensure it flows and does not stand high, first try did not heat enough to flow and leave a nice transition, heated the second try more and flowed nicely with little transition
