This burner surprised me. I have not had any problems at all, despite returning one just like it (likely a different branded version of the same drive) a year ago due to constant coasters. I have tried numerous 25GB and 50GB discs from a variety of brands and have not had any trouble. While it does not verify as fast as my other external drive (from Asus, which costs much more), I am very happy to have that 100% burn success rate. BD50's are a HUGE problem for drives as they age. The first sign of a dying burner is it's sudden inability to successfully burn that second layer and I will update this review if that trouble ever ensues, but so far, all good to go. By the way, this drive feels solid. The build quality is high and that's rare these days.

The dvd burner is of very good quality however the delivery time and management was woful

It would be useful to hold down papers in a windy environment. The pc recognizes the player but won't do anything with it. I've poked around for an hour and nothing gets it working. No media player can find it. Zero documentation beyond how to hook it up, not even a website to go to for a .pdf

I've been very pleased with this burner so far. Under Windows 11, it recognized the drive right away. I hooked it up to a usb 3.0 port and I also ran another drive off one of the added ports in the back of the drive and both drives worked that way. I had a question as to whether the bluray burner could burn dual layer (50gb) bluray discs and the company responded quickly to the question (it does). I've burned 3 discs so far with the drive. The only thing was the older version of Power ISO I had wouldn't let me choose a speed other than the max for some reason. I switched to the open source ImgBurn and with that could access the lower speed settings. Considering this drive has a lower price point than other burners and that it has more features I think it provides great value for the money.
