Code Check Building 4th Edition: An Illustrated Guide to the Building Codes

I bought this in connection with two other code check books guides. They have lived up to expectations as a quick reference guide with citations to major national codes if you need additional information. These codes are not always adopted in their entirety or without editing at the local level, I would not rely no this manual for building a house from the ground up. But, as a homeowner who want to know how to properly address day to day repairs and updates this manual series has you covered.The configuration of Code Check is great. Each page is tabbed for quick reference and spiral bound at the top. Also, someone was thinking ahead the paper is heavy thickness and appears to be laminated or otherwise coated which helps it resist dirt and staining (which are always present when working).

Homeowners and builders must have this information.

My husband is a contractor and I bought this for him. He loves them and they are easy to navigate and reference for his projects. He has not need to do extended research it answers all his questions. The book and all the pages are laminated so its durable and he can keep it in his work van. Perfect guide!

This is a very good reference for a home inspector

I designed and built my own house... no, I am not a contractor or a professional tradesman other than having worked on Habitat for Humanity over the past decade and listening to advice of retired general contractors. The book and its companions are a 'builders bible'. Even the local building inspector brought one and was pleased to see we both had these references. I passed each inspection first time.

I got this with other Code Check books when I built my addition to my home. This book is a great on-site reference to the IBC. It was even reccomended by my building inspector. A very handy guide to have.

Only complaint is that some code items are so short and terse it takes some real thought to understand but I'd rather have that than a bulky manual!
