Good quality cast iron. Handle does not wobble and is solidly made. Unlike other handles, the metal part does not protude from the sides of the wood, so no risk of burning your fingers. It's small size is great for making roti and light enough to handle with less effort. It is cast iron so storage after washing requires care, otherwise it starts rusting if stored wet. But that is the nature of cast iron.

Perfect size for making chappathi at home. This one suits our needs. We dont make chappathis bigger than the one that fits this tawa.

Ordered in 4 rth jan got by 5th and made Dosa ( Double sided browned thick Dosa ) next day and I am very happy with the result . Tasted exactly like mom's meema made Dosa . There's a saying that people never forget the taste of good food and the hands that made it . Day after tomorrow i shall try ' Vellayappam ( / kallapam) on it . Tawa needs medium - low heat on medium burner , medium high heat on small burner . I am happy with the purchase. I am waiting for ' Cast Iron palappa chatti ' from the same brand.

Black coating peeling off... Didn't expect a coating/ paint

Excellent product. Quite small in size. Suitable for making mini dosas n for bachelors. Quality is too good. After receiving the product i washed it with dish washer liquid and directly made dosa in it, dosa came out very well without sticking in the pan. Dosa is very crispy too. We can make omelette, fry fish, uthappam. For big families perfer size more than 22cm.

Tawa is excellent.. very heavy.. looks vise great but burns hands when you need to hold handle while making rotis… the company should consider a wooden handle

Superb cast iron tawa. Very convenient for frying fish. Perfect concave shape for frying fish. Very good quality. People complaining about hot handles, all cast iron tawas with handles are going to get hot, what were you thinking when you bought them? Only con I feel is unnecessarily large handles. They are useless and occupy disproportionate space in the storage. The heat distribution is perfect, almost as good as non stick so no stickiness, weight is obviously more as expected being a cast iron tawa.

Rotis never tasted so amazing before . Discarded the cancerous non stick pan and now making rotis on this original cast iron tava. Just truly worth it !!

Why did you choose this product over others?: a must for an Indian kitchen - recommended over the anodised or coated ones. This is heavy , and has a circular area below which is flat - that allows it to be used on UK hobs.
