Bonide Captain Jack's Neem Max, 16 oz Concentrated Cold Pressed Neem Oil, Multi-Purpose Insecticide, Fungicide, Miticide, and Nematicide for Organic Gardening

I've been using this product for many years now. One bottle has lasted me a very long time. And whenever I need to use it to take away the bugs, it's like 2 times I'll use it on the plants. 2 waterings and then the bugs are gone. It works really, really good. I have never had it hurt any of my plants. I've used it on delicate plants and it has worked well. I just put it in the soil when I water. The soil really well and then I put the product on top. After I've watered it, I don't spray the leaves with it or anything like that. How about it kills the bugs in the soil? And yeah, it works good. I would recommend this to anyone.

Love this product I use it by itself or in my sexy plant juice recipe for my indoor plants. Works great. Small bottle for the price but it works well so I’m not going to complain. Doesn’t have a pleasant smell but most neem oil’s don’t it’s not supposed to smell pretty it’s to protect your plants and also kill pests.

This neem oil concentrate has become a staple in my gardening routine. I use it on my tomatoes, peppers, and ornamentals, and it’s helped keep pests at bay without harsh chemicals. I especially like that it tackles a wide range of issues insects, fungus, mites, all with one product. After a few applications, everything looked visibly healthier.

Good product, not an immediate fix though. I had an aphid problem ( not quite an infestation, but definitely on its way to causing major damage to my seedlings) that was causing an ant problem because of the sticky residue that the aphids leave behind. I diluted the product as directed on the bottle. The first morning I sprayed my plants, underside and tops of leaves. By the next morning, I had more leaf damage from the aphids... Even though the product stated to wait a few days in between applications, I used again the next morning. Still had aphid residue/presence of bugs. So for the third application (4 days after initial application) I added a little bit of liquid castile soap, BOOM, the problem was gone by that evening. I washed off the mixture with my water hose and made sure that I wiped away any leftover bug residue in case the stronger mixture was too strong, to avoid leaf damage. Separate issue with a different colored aphid, the green ones, on my sugar snap peas. They were attacking all new growth. I used the instructions on bottle, but added a half teaspoon extra and the problem was gone the next day. I probably should have waited a couple of hours then washed away the mixture because all of the new growth was somewhat wilted/damaged. But this was completely my own wrong doing! Sugar snap pease are pretty delicate, especially the new growth. But they continued to grow and the damage was minimal. Good product, worked fast. Id recommend doing your own due diligence and just play around with measurements on the dilution of this product if it doesn't seem to work after the first couple of applications. Try it out on a very small section of plant that won't be too harmful if damage is done.

Neem _ My write up Usually Neem Must be mixed with other components because oil doesn’t stay mixed with water. Neem is the best organic product to use for pests under the ground as well as on plants above ground. I am using this Neem Max as a drench (under the ground) on my favorite plants because when used as a drench it is actually systemic. That means that the plant drinks in the Neem water resulting in its leaves and other plant parts not tasting good to pests. Most pests will starve instead of eating a leaf with Neem in it. This is very different from spraying Neem on plants. When you spray Neem on plants, it blocks the air holes on the pests’ bodies so that is why they expire. It only does this on contact. It does not work unless the Neem covers the pest completely. Neem is one of the very few things that is successful against root knot nematodes in soil! But it goes further than that. Last year I used it as a drench every month just on my favorite plants in one plant bed. Gophers got in that bed and voraciously ate up most of my plants but did not touch the plants that I had been treating with a Neem Drench. So, that’s pretty exciting stuff! I had read before this experience that caster oil deters gophers very well but I never read that Neem did that too!🤩 I Love that I don’t have to mix it with other products in order for the oil to stay suspended in the water. I should also mention that my struggling plants don’t do well with a full dose of 3-6TBS per gallon. So, what I do is give all plants that I am treating 1 Tablespoon Neem Max per gallon and do that once a week for 3 times or more. That way they don’t have to deal with too much Neem at once. I don't know what my pumpkins were sick with. Tried an app to tell me what was wrong and it said it was a water which was almost impossible for that to be the issue. Ordered this because it was a 4-1 product. Well, not sure which one of the four issues it was, but it fixed the problem. Pumpkins leaf's did die, the ones that were already looking bad, but the plant sprang back to life with new and huge lush leaf's like a pumpkin should be. Sprayed one week, noticed a difference in a few days. Sprayed the next week, plants were substantially better. Waited a couple weeks, sprayed again and the plants are beautiful now. I did use a whole gallon of mixed spray for three plants cause I wanted to nip the problem in the you know what and this certainly did that. Thanks so much for a great product. Only bad thing, holy Moses it doesn't smell the best, but whatever if it works!

Takes care of unwanted critters in garden. I want to eat my food, not share it with caterpillars.

The product is not of poor quality; rather, it simply does not provide a reasonable amount. It is priced at $10 and can produce 10 gallons at the weakest mixture. However, if used at full strength, it only yields about 3 gallons, which is not particularly cost effective. I do like the product. However, when compared to other bottles of pure neem oil, I could have easily made my own by adding some soap and obtained well over 20 times the amount for the same price. Neem oil is not a one time use spray solution. For best results, it is necessary to apply it at least three times, targeting every stage of the pests life cycle (eggs, larvae, adults) in order to truly reap the benefits. If you only have a few plants, it is not a bad option. However, if you are applying it to a garden to combat a rapidly multiplying pest like aphids, you will quickly run out. The low cost of the raw materials yet high cost of application for this alone is the reason why this product has received the rating it has. In conclusion, it is safe to say while the product fully works as intended it is not competitively priced compared to other available options. Given this, and the need to reapply frequently, I have a hard time recommending this particular product unless your needs are very minimal.
