Works Great For 8-Track Repair
While it's not particularly marketed as such, I'll bet a lot of purchasers are using this tape for 8-Track repair. Me too. The tape width is slightly narrower than 1/4"; I believe the manufacturer claims that's to help avoid a not-quite-perfectly-aligned splice getting stuck in the tape guides. It seems to be slightly thicker than the original 8-Trail foil, but feeds through the mechanism just fine. I've repaired blank cartridges from BASF, Sony, Radio Shack, Panasonic, and others, plus commercially-recorded tapes, all with success.

Something that "Tape Heads" Need But the Average Person Doesn't Know About
"Back in the Day" every tape audiophile (a.k.a "tape head") probably needed this sensing foil. This is what a bi-directional reel-to-reel tape recorder senses to cause the machine to automatically reverse direction. I figured that it would be nearly impossible to find, yet here it is! This sensing foil is super easy to apply and works great. I am living in the 1960 now and loving it. Great product.

Perfect!
Works great on both a Pioneer RT-707 and RT-909. A little difficulty getting the backing off the tape. I may opt for the precut foils next time I purchase.

Works for 8 track repair
This foil is thicker than the foil used on 8 track cartridges from 50 years ago. The old foils are dried out and must be replaced.I have used this foil to successfully repair 20 old cartridges and they play perfectly on my old 1974 Pioneer H-22 deck.I recommend cutting the ends of the splice at a 60 degree angle and put pressure on the tape to get it as flat as possible to allow the join to move smoothly through the pinch roller.

Works for replacing 8trk sensor strip
Dug out over 120 8trk cartridges from storage and was about to throw them out. Sensor tape adhesive on all of them dried causing tape loop to separate, Foam cushion in cartridges turned to powder when touched. The OCD in me - ended up opening each cartridge and did repair with this sensor tape and blue tape on the back side for added strength. Radio Shack car 8trk player stored with these tapes still works. Music quality is poor compare to digital now. It was an interesting exercise - probably going to put stuff back in storage.
