The device helps to decrease your breathing rate. We got 3 units, one for our family, two for friends. We used it consistently at first, my husband uses it daily now. I use it more for meditation. It does lower anxiety, which is why our Dr recommended it's use for us.

I sent it back because it was too expensive for what it did. I got a Smartwatch for less money that has a breathing app to help me breathe. Nice device just too costly for what it does.

This did NOT work for me. Waste of money.

I purchased this directly from the company. First off I had to add some inches to the chest strap. It was not large enough for me. Once I did that, the unit was very finicky. Most of the time I kept receiving a message to readjust the strap. I don't want to completely slam the product. It just did not work for me. I will try again soon. If there is a change, I will change the review.

We tested this device for blood pressure purposes as well as some other devices such as the emWave for use in building vagal tone in our offices. The goal being to have some of these to loan to patients to see if it would be a good fit for them. Initially I contacted Resperate to get some questions answered about the product. It's apparently a small company with only one person who takes calls, but I finally got a call back. Along the way Eli explained that the goal of the device was guide you to an "8.4 second exhalation" and a "4.2 second inhalation." This made sense as we're sympathetically stimulated (think fight or flight) on inhalation and parasympathetically stimulated (putting on the brakes) during exhalation. Over the course of the coming weeks we would get surveys from the company to take, but most all the links were broken. Then along the way as no measurable progress was being seen I started recording the audio from the sessions where I could slow it down and measure the tones. What we found was that the unit was timing the breaths on a 1:1 inhale to exhale. There was no extended exhalation being generated. You could literally just use a recording of one session and get the same results. So I reached out to the company numerous times via email, phone, web contact form, and finally through their "Verified Reviews." The company finally offered to refund my money, but they were in no way whatsoever interested in talking to me about the lack of inhale to exhale ratio. So feeling there was nothing left to do, I sent the unit back for a refund. It's too bad, because I would much rather have had the issue resolved and the unit to have been useful. The fact that they refused to even talk to us about it, however, meant we could never in good conscience recommended this in our office to patients. I purchased ours from the company directly to get the two month trial instead of the one month offered on Amazon, but truth be told buying from Amazon is probably safer.

I bought this and it does not work. I found that I breathe slower naturally than the amount of breaths it requires you to take. I got very anxious and couldn't keep up with every time I was supposed to breathe. I just couldn't focus. I felt like I was constantly trying to catch my breath and wound up having a panic attack. My BP increased. The machine caused extreme anxiety. Don't buy it.
