I have a Dell Optiplex 780 minitower that I bought used from an authorized dealer. I downloaded the owner's manual to see what type of ram this computer used. There is a section in there explaining how to upgrade parts, and ram was covered. It takes the guess work out of the situation. Clear, detailed pictures to lead you through the process. I also went on Dell's forum website, and reccomendations were to use only Crucial brand of ram. Different reviews stated they had problems with the 1066 mhz ram. I read the product description for this ram and noted it was guaranteed to work in my Optiplex. So even though it was only 533 mhz I ordered it. More than one review stated to be sure and update the BIOS to the A15 version. I did this prior to installing the new ram. The ram sent to me has a Dell sticker on both of them. The ram installed (in spite of my stiff fingers) and I turned on the computer. I run a program called Speccy that give a detail system analisis. The new ram was detected as dual channel too. This ram is exactly what I wanted. I would not hesitate to order this ram if you have a OEM Optiplex 780 minitower. I'm not a computer expert, so I cannot say if it will work in other types of computers.

Ordered this ram as an upgrade for another unit i owned. It works just fine, tested speeds and it all matched what it was. Nothing more to say about it. No thermal issues and product works better then before with the RAM upgrade.

If you have a computer with two 2GB memory cards installed with 2 empty memory slots then you will love this. Leave your existing cards in place and put you new cards in next to the existing cards and you end up with 12GB of memory with about $40 out of pocket and 10 minutes of your time. Restart your machine and then go to settings on the control panel window . It should show you 12GB of memory. If no then just do a restart and check again. It took two tries for mine to show up. First place I noticed a difference was Google Earth. It didn't lock up after 5 minutes as it usually does.
