This is FUN!!
Okay, I've been making pasta for years, I have lots of pasta equipment--some good, some not so good--but this is the cutest l'il thing that I have ever used! Plus, it makes music. (Just kidding). I made some straight up plain pasta dough and ran it through my roller at the thinnest setting; let it sit for a bit; then tried various rolling pins to see which would work best. This was for the angel hair side--haven't tried the spaghetti side. I discovered that the best method seems to be to be sure to lightly flour the section before beginning to roll; then after giving it a few passes, press down and slide down the length of the wires without allowing the roller to turn--just pushing it. Also make sure that the wires are good and tight. Presto! Some quite lovely product. UPDATE: I've now made both sizes of pasta with equal success. The larger size was actually easier and the noodles are great! fyi, my dough recipe is very simple: 1 egg per person dropped in the middle of a pile of ATTA flour (available at Costco), some salt on top of the egg; whisk with a fork a bit, flipping the flour onto the egg. Work the whole mess with hands. Moisten if needed. Be sure and knead for a good ten minutes. Presto. One egg will make plenty for a small dinner for two.

Very nice.
Appears as pictured and is very sturdy. I have used it 3 times and like the Pasta. I did have some trouble getting it to cut threw the Pasta Dough, I had to push it several times to get it to pass threw the wire strings. Are they all like that? Also my Pasta Dough was rolled very thin..

Perfection!
I have not yet used this product, but it is exactly like the one I used in a pasta making class in Italy. This is a solid product, nicely made with perfectly strung wires that arrived tight and in perfect condition! (unlike other Chitarra cutters sold on Amazon) One side has small spaced wires for spaghetti and the other side has wider spaced wires for Fettuccine style. The product is packaged in a nice box with instructions and again in a shipping box, making sure that it arrives in one piece. It did have a slight warp (which is normal) but with the addition of a self sticking pad it no longer rocks. I can't wait to use this Chitarra Pasta Cutter. Thank you to Eppicotispa for a quality product!

Good Chitarra for the price.
This Chitarra works exactly as designed. Rather then my 24" pasta rolling pin I find that a seperate bakers rolling pin works best. First letting the pin rotate then as the pasta is almost through the Chitarra grasping the pin directly and sliding it back and forth till the strings show. Then a quick strum of the base of the strings and the pasta falls right out. Regarding the complaint that the Chitarra is delivered with the strings somewhat loose, that is how it should be. Always store your Chitarra with most of the tention taken off the strings then tighten it for use. Do this and it will reward you with years of service. It is so attractive and interesting that I have hung it on a cabinet in my kitchen and company first seeing it never fail to ask about it and comment on it.

Serviceable.
Was servicible. Would be much better if rolling pin was included. One that fit it better than an ordinary one. Wires could have been more taught for brand new. Wood s bit rough. Serviceable though. Wa a fine for the price

Easy to use
This is an easy way to make homemade pasta. You don’t have to worry about gum up the machine. I use my KitchenAid pasta roller to roll out the dough put it on the chittara and use a rolling pin to cut it.

Perfect pasta
I love this gadget! So easy to use and makes perfect and uniform noodles every time. Highly recommend if you want to make your own pasta.

The product itself was less the problem than the manner in which it was represented. It was listed as "Condition: Used - Acceptable - Item has major cosmetic damages but is still usable." The damage to this was NOT merely "cosmetic," it was absolutely unusable because the strings of the cutter were so mangled as to render it useless without restringing. IF the description had made it clear that it did not work in its present state I would definitely not have purchased it. It was an international order, so it is likely a major hassle to return it. As it is, I am stuck with this now and the only way it will be of any use is if I can restring it. I would NEVER buy from this vendor again as I feel they intentionally sold damaged goods as having merely a cosmetic flaw. I feel cheated.

The product itself was good but the packaging was mangled and I purchased it as a gift

Easy to use and clean . Once it was tightened up we didn't have any trouble. A rolling pin is all you need to make lovely fettuccini

Did not work well - not like the ones we used at cooking school in Italy. The cutting wires don’t seem well tensioned, or easy to adjust. The unit also doesn’t sit flat on the counter, which makes it awkward. We tried unsuccessfully to use it, and eventually had to resort to using our metal rotary cranked pasta cutter

My husband makes pasta and we thought this a good idea but it broke right away . Sent it back . Not sturdy enough maybe , the strings broke . I wouldn’t even bother to try another .
