High-Security 8-Sheet Micro-Cut Paper Credit Card Shredder Black

My old shredder suddenly stopped working and I needed a new one asap. I read the description and decided on buying it. I received this product the next day. Everything was in the box. I had a lot of documents to shred. The shredder does make noise, like all shredders do. I started the shredding process and I love how it does cross micro cuts. WOW! I LOVED IT! It did better than my last shredder. I tried letting it cool down after shredding around 30 pages so that way it doesn't over heat. Shredders are known to overheat after shredding for at least 2 minutes straight. The worse padt is that once it overheats, you have to wait at least for 30 minutes for it to cool down before the shredder starts operating again. I also discovered that the operating manual stated that you could even use cooking oil to lubricate the gears/blades. Most shredders do not allow use cooking oil for lubricating. Anyway, this was a great purchase and I highly recommend this product. Be aware, this is my own personal, honest opinion. I am not a paid reviewer. Like you, I paid with my own money and it was a great purchase.

I recently bought the Aurora High-Security 8-Sheet Micro-Cut Shredder, and I generally recommend it! Fantastic shredder. So quiet. And it shreds into itty bitty pieces. I have been purging files from my mom's house, and this has been the best purchase to help with that. It has never jammed, and it is easy to empty.

Been using this for a couple months now in my home office, getting rid of old documents. It's a great shredder in my opinion. I like that it's a micro shredder. I've had no problems with overheating. The only thing I would change is maybe making it a little wider. Since the input slot is just paper sized, sometimes it can get jammed on the edges. If the input was a little wider, the edges of the paper might not jam up.

Works as advertised. No issues. Shreds credit cards with no issues.

Second review after a few days of shredding. It seems to be a beast. Its only used maybe an hour at a time , but so far hasn't jammed or overheated as for the shredding time it is continuous for the hour or so. I found and shredded 12 to 15 credit cards and it handled them with ease. I initially rate as 4 stars and now changed to 5. I did try 8 sheets and the sound was the same as 6 sheets . no issues Seems to be a very powerful shredder. i've used it for appx an hour or more over 3 days and have not had any issues with over heating, jamming or any other negative operations . I only gave a 4 star rating due to when shredding 5 pages it seems to slow way down. I dont know what 8 sheets would do to it and am not going to test it. i havnt tried credit cards or CD's so no report there. For some reason i thought it would be bigger but never looked at the specs. I will mention the shredded/motor assembly is quite heavy. i initially thought there was a lock holding the shredder to to the disposal bin. But just have to carefully lift it off the bin .

Much better than I expected. It shreds paper into tiny little bits making it impossible for someone to piece it back together. It looks beautiful and takes up little space. Very happy with this purchase.

This thing is small but it works very well it’s confetti so document is not readable after shredded, easy to I use has not jammed and surprised that it hold so many sheets before need to empty.

Primera vez que compro una trituradora de papel. Estoy muy satisfecha con la compra. Es muy eficiente, fácil de usar, práctica para deshacerse de papeles y documentos importantes de forma más segura. La tapa con la maquinaria y cuchillas es ligeramente pesada pero no implica gran esfuerzo colocarla. Trituró sobres, publicidad en papel tipo cartulina y tarjetas de crédito sin problema. El manual viene solo en inglés. Sería adecuado viniera en otros idiomas. Una recomendación es que se lubrique con aceite de cocina y no a base de petróleo o spray. Por lo menos cada mes, y colocarlo en una hoja de papel para que al pasarlo lubrique las cuchillas. Anexo el manual que encontré en español de este modelo. Y aunque tomé dos videos más para que se viera que tipos de papel tritura. Sólo me permitió subir uno. Estoy muy satisfecha con la compra. Llegó muy rápido y su costo ha valido la pena. Considero que tendrá buena duración considerando que su uso será en el hogar.

Unfortunately not for the UK as fitted with 2 pin plug so returned the item.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve owned 4 paper shredders: 1) Init NT-PS0CC: Cross-cut, loud, not too bad, lasted 4 years 2) Aurora AU1050XE: Cross-cut, quieter, light, lasted 4 years 3) Insignia NS-PS10MC: Micro-cut, faster, not loud but not too quiet either, larger and heavy, lasted 6 years Current: Aurora AU608MB - Micro-cut (less dusty than Insignia NS-PS10MC); - Very quiet (quieter than Aurora AU1050XE); - Very fast (faster than Insignia NS-PS10MC); - Small and light; - Smaller wastebasket than all the other three, but that’s a plus because it’s easier to empty it (it fits more easily into regular-size plastic bags and it’s so light that even when it’s full of shredded paper you can empty it into a bag with one hand. Shredding 6 pages seems to be the maximum, but when shredding 6 it’s a tad slower, while shredding up to 5 pages at a time will get you the maximum speed (and it really is fast). It can handle about 8 minutes of constant shredding (if you do 5 sheets at a time - which lasts about 5 seconds - that’s about 60 sheets per minute or 480 sheets in 8 minutes). You can do three full wastebaskets before it needs to rest. That’s very good performance. At that point, it shuts down due to overheating (as most shredders do). The only downside is that it takes a while to cool down (after 8 minutes of constant work you’ll need to give it a 15-minute break before using it again). But at current price (CA$67.80 + tax) this is a very, very good purchase and I certainly recommend it. Cannot speak of longevity yet, as I just bought it recently. The only issue I had with it was the delivery. It wasn’t delivered by Amazon but Purolator instead and they delayed delivery twice (it was supposed to be ‘next day’, then at the end of ‘next day’ they rescheduled it for ‘the next day’, and at the end of that ‘next day’ they rescheduled it once again to ‘the next day’. Even though it had been on their truck for 48 hours, it arrived in mint condition as the packaging inside was good, holding the shredder in place tightly.
