Melostu (Silver) - Todai 24cm Stainless Steel Non-Slip Yakiniku BBQ Tongs (Silver)

I bought this pair of tongs because I wanted something smaller and more precise to flip over smaller food items when cooking. My 12" tongs are very good but are too big and clumsy for smaller things like plantains, tofu, dumplings, butternut squash etc...so this small pair is perfect for what I need. I was debating wether to get this or a cooking tweezer but after hearing about the amount of broken tweezers this seem to be exactly what I was looking for. Something small but durable that can be used for any precision flipping or pickup. After usage: I love that it's made in Japan, so I know I'm getting a quality product. So far it has not rusted even though it's 18/0 steel. The construction is very durable and can withstand many uses and not fall apart. It will take some getting use to when you first use it but can easily get under food which chopsticks cannot. This has replaced my bigger tongs in many occasions due to it's smaller size and convenient of use. Eg: taking food from a bowl. It's easy to clean as well. So if you're looking for a smaller more precise tongs these are definitely a good tool to have.

I use this for an indoor Korean grill to flip meats and vegetables for Korean BBQ. I previously used long tweezers made for a biology lab and these seem to be made to the same quality. The fingers have a stamped pattern that gives you a positive grip even with possibly greasy fingers. Those finger grips also act to keep the serrated food contact points off the table and they are balanced to keep them stable when put down. the only downside is that these features make them a bit bulkier to store in a drawer. But I would definitely replace them with the same if I ever lose them because I doubt they will wear out or break. The only thing that might happen is that they might get bent in the drawer and not align properly. I have had that happen to cheap forceps.

These are an excellent addition to any kitchen. The tongs are simple, lightweight and strong. Unlike most spring loaded tongs, they don’t catch your skin when you are using them. They won’t fall apart either because they are constructed as one beautiful piece. Furthermore, these tongs are precise which is wonderful for small sliced foods. Finally, the price is very fair. Overall, I give these tongs an A+.
