Indie Boards & Cards Flash Point Fire Rescue: Veteran and Rescue Dog Accessory Pack

This is minis expansion adds two great characters to Flash Point Fire Rescue: The Veteran and the Rescue Dog. The Veteran has 4AP, and a strong supporting character. The Veteran gets a dodge ability which other fire fighters gain when they are near him as well as additional AP. This is great for bigger group games (3-5). The Rescue Dog is one of the best recon/rescue members of the Fire Fighting team! He gets 12 AP!! He cannot put out fires, move chemicals, or move through fire, or open doors, however, he can squeeze through damaged walls, and use 4 AP to move with a survivor! He can also bank more AP for future turns! The dog character was a great entry hook to get my mother, a dog lover, interested in this game. Out of all the expansions, this was the one that I got first and would put it at the top 3 if you are looking to add one of the many expansions to your existing game.

We had a good time using a dog in our game. It is really unique to the other characters. It has really high movement and can drag people further than the average firefighter. It can also squeeze through damaged walls, which has come in handy. A big problem we've come across is that it can't open doors, which means we had to strategize around that weak point so that the dog can do its job. It definitely adds a twist to how we take out fires.

These two additional characters are great! The veteran we haven't used so much, but that's because in a two-player game he doesn't see as much versatility as in games with more players. But Violet (the name my wife gave to the Rescue Dog) sees play in every single game, if possible. She is great at pulling victims out of the fire. Even though she cannot fight fires at all, the speed she can cross the board unencumbered makes her the perfect choice to get out there and pull people to safety. And she's a good puppy! *gives dog a treat*

I got this for a friend who has the base game, and the Rescue Dog adds a lot of valuable tactical options in the tense atmosphere of the game. Plus, who doesn't like a heroic dog? Some reviewers have taken issue with the price, but this expansion provides so much value that I think it is justified. I haven't even tried the Veteran yet.

This is a great add-on for Flashpoint! I love both characters, but the rescue dog is incredibly handy to have during a game!

Great expansion! The veteran is my new favorite and my 5 year old son now plays with us using the dog. Note: The miniatures you get with this match the miniatures you get with the Extreme Danger expansion. The ED miniatures replace the base set miniatures.

The other reviews are right on the money - the price is a bit high, but the rescue dog is awesome. My daughter loves playing as 'the doggy'. Still, if it wasn't a gift for my husband, who loves this game, I don't think I would have bought it - maybe if it was a few bucks cheaper.

It's great to have more firefighters, but you'll have to decide if two more is worth the price you pay.

Not a lot in the pack but worth it to be able to play the rescue dog :) A unique, effective and popular addition to the game.
