The DIY Sprinkler Book: Install Your Own Automatic Sprinkler System. Save Thousands and Get the Satisfaction of Knowing You Did it Yourself and Did it Yourself Review: Easy to follow instructions. Very helpful. - My husband wanted to expand our sprinkler system and needed some help. This book was extremely helpful. We were expanding a big area and needed some guidance. So glad we found this book. Review: A simple guide to sprinkler systems - I found a lot of the content was repeated in the book, it was apparent that although I bought the hard copy the information was based on the e copy, several times it referred to the view shown below which did not exist in the hard copy. Being a novice on sprinkler systems I still found the information given was informative and helpful but there was quite a bit of filler in the book I felt was just page filling

This book is only good if you want to add sprinklers to your home (hose) water source.
This book is made for someone with a small house/yard that wants to add sprinklers to city water (hose connection). I want/need to replace my entire system that's on a well and thought it would be more expansive than just what the author needed to accomplish for his personal house. No in-depth talk about pumps, sediment filtration, Iron removal. Just his experience with his home system connected to city water. I read in 4 hours and did gain the knowledge of tilling and using manure for California, but I live in Florida and already knew I needed to get the soil proper before sod installation. If common sense is absent to you, this book could help. But if you need in-depth understanding of everything related to sprinkler installation, this is not it!

More than just sprinklers
Book is more useful than the title implies. Not only does it lawn sprinklers, but it covers how to prepare soil etc.

Overview of routine lawn irrigation
This book offers an adequate overview of how to install conventional lawn sprinkler systems, using materials from a store such as Home Dept. The author describes, in general terms, how to design the placement of sprinkler heads, and gives fairly specific advice on how to install the sprinklers, solenoids, and control panel. It begins by making the case that most lawns that do not have irrigation should be replaced, and it provides an overview of that too. The "book" appears to be a Word document, and certainly has none of the production values of a professionally published book. The cover looks like a conventional book, but beyond the cover it's just a document. This didn't bother me at all, because the material seems credible. I paid $3 for a Kindle version of the book, and that seems like about the right price. It will get you going, and may be all the guidance you need for routine irrigation projects.

Limited options
I was hoping they would have some alternate ideas to creating a modified sprinkler system into an existing yard. The book really only offered one type of system.... but we wanted one that wasn't necessarily a permanent solution.

To much talk about grass
No talk about a well
