Can I attach casters to this base?

No. It is not recommended to use casters with the base as it would make it unstable and dangerous during exercise

What’s the purpose of the 4 holes in the base?

I believe these are for resistance tubes/bands (although the tubes would have to have removable ends, so that they could be threaded through the base. I just use the two elongated "notches" on each side of the base, since my resistance tubes have carabiners on the ends. Fitting the tube under the base, with each end coming through each of the 2 notches, allows me to use use individual handles on each end of the tribe, or attach my fixed bar (like presses). Much more awkward just using a bench, but works in a pinch.

Can an 85 cm Fitness ball be used with this base?

I wouldn’t recommend it. Mine never stayed on and it constantly slipped around.

is the one piece the ball only? not the stand? Why is 4 pieces cheaper than 1 piece?

The one piece is the stand only,, and the ball is NOT included. I imagine the four piece is less expensive because it is less stable over time.

Keeps yoga ball still !

There’s nothing more annoying than your yoga ball shifting around the garage or workout room! This stand is awesome ! A place to keep it from moving and also can use w/o feeling too imbalanced!

Slides and does not stay in place

I do like this to hold the exercise ball in place however it slides. Without any rubber stoppers or feet it slides whenever it’s used. I have learned a lesson to look closer at description of products. There is not description of any type of non-skid base or feet. I take responsibility for that but if this product had something I would give it 5 stars. As it stand 3 is all I can as it is dangerous the way it slides when I sit on it.
