Are these black or blue?

They are black, or very dark charcoal grey exactly as shown in the pictures. The binding strip which is double-stitched along the edges is light blue.

Can i use this for soundproofing for a diy vocal recording booth?

I used them for moving and I have used them also in a garage trying to block street noise and they really aren't heavy enough to do much good. I have seen a foam type product on Amazon to sound proof recording booths you might check out.

Are there any chemicals in them related to moving? Want to use these for regular blankets

I have a few similar moving blankets that I keep in my SUV for general and emergency use. I frequently use them as in car blankets and for lawn/beach blankets. Never any issue with smell. I wash mine often.
