Decent filter, but a 20K lifespan? Not with any of my vehicles. Not sure how that can ever be advertised. If you have contaminants in the oil, it's going to start clogging regardless of the "20K" and could cause issues. On the flip side, if you have a perfect engine maybe it could last 20K, but the oil itself will have broken down before then. The filter works fine, just not going to last 20K

These Fram Ultra Synthetic filters are an excellent choice for your next oil change on your expensive vehicles. I use this one (XG7317) on my 2020 Subaru Outback and the XG3976 on my 2019 Ram Limited 6.7 l Cummins. I also use other sizes of this filter on my John Deere lawn tractor and my compact utility tractor/loader. They all have media with excellent filtration specifications, backflow valves, and sealing gaskets that never fail. The canister itself is built very heavily so you don't need to worry about crushing or damage to it when installing or removing. The black gripping coating is really helpful, assuring that your hand or filter wrench will not slip on the canister body. All of the Ultra Synthetic series sizes are well priced, assuring that you are getting the best value for your filtration dollars. The cheapest line of Fram filters (PH plus a number ) are often criticized as junk. Don't confuse those with the Ultra Synthetic line of Fram. The Ultra Synthetic line of filters are high quality and high performance. Highly recommended. If you buy them with a quantity discount, or even in a subscription, they are even cheaper than individually, making these an even better value.

I have been buying these FRAM Ultra Synthetic oil filters for a few years now, as opposed to OEM, and I’m really impressed! Based on my research at the time, the filtration performance is top-notch, providing excellent protection for my engine. It is designed for use with synthetic oils, which gives me peace of mind for longer oil change intervals. In fact I normally change my oil and filter once a year since I do not drive much (e.g. <10k). But the last time around I only changed the oil and left the filter on since it's rated for 20,000 MILES which is ~32,000 KM. The installation is always straightforward, and the build quality feels robust and durable. In the past few years using these on all our vehicles, I did not notice any difference in engine performance compared to OEM. Overall, I can recommend these filters.
