The only brand of vanilla I use!
A vanilla cake will never be boring with Heilala vanilla in your batter. This is the only brand I trust for my cakes! I love the look of the seeds in the cake and buttercream. (Like my favorite brand of ice cream!) Worth every penny!

Very good
I usually use the vanilla bean paste but it’s very expensive! So I have added this along with the paste and seems to work.

Great flavor!
I love, love this vanilla! I use it when I want the vanilla flavor to come through! Try it in a crème bruleee, sugar cookie, or pound cake! Oh, in buttercream!!! Anywhere you want a distinct flavor.

Not vanilla extract; flavor is good, but not intense
This is not vanilla extract, as I think of it, which is made by extracting the vanilla in vodka or other liquor that is 35% alcohol. I use homemade extract which I make from beans I order from this site, or I use McCormick professional grade extract. This is tasty, but not near strong enough to flavor cooking and baking. I can actually eat this straight which tells me it is a closer relative to vanilla syrup for coffee than vanilla extract for baking. I love the inclusion of vanilla specks, but I don’t understand the sugar content and wish there were more info about that. So this is just okay for me.

More like a watery syrup. Very sweet and a bit light in flavor, but yummy.
This Heilala Gourmet Vanilla with Seeds is not what I would consider an extract. And, so far, I haven't noticed any seeds, but maybe they fall to the bottom. The bottle is plastic and dark, so you cannot see into it nor can sun or light degrade it, either. I would have preferred glass, but I have transferred mine to a large glass amber bottle, so it's no biggie. I was surprised that it has 16% alcohol, because when I tasted it plain I did not taste much, if any of it. It is very sweet and has a lighter vanilla flavor than I'm used to. It seems more like a watery simple syrup. Like its flavor, its ingredients are not what I would expect to be in an extract. It just says it is made using "Vanilla Bean extractives in water and alcohol". I added it to my coffee and had to add quite a bit to get a good taste of the flavor, and it added sweetness along with it. I use a sweet, sugar-free creamer, so I didn't need any other sweetener for my large coffee. It was almost too sweet. It does have a good authentic vanilla flavor and tastes yummy. Because of all the added sugar, I'm not sure how one would use this in baking/cooking. This is a very sweet vanilla flavoring/syrup, with a nice light flavor. It is a large bottle that may go a bit quicker than I expected, because of the need to use a bit more to get enough flavor. I wish it weren't so sweet, but I still really like it. If its ingredient content and flavor profile get your taste buds watering, and you are not expecting an extract, I would definitely recommend it.
