Very good kit.
First off, it took almost 2 weeks to get this model delivered. One week of that was waiting for it to even be shipped! I don’t understand why something can’t be shipped in less than 7 days. The model is fantastic. The plastic is thick and heavy. The seams are tongue and groove. The parts fit together perfectly. I dry fitted the saucer, engineering hull and warp nacelles together to see what it was going to look like, and although I used masking tape to hold the parts together, I didn’t really have to. The fit is that good. This thing is 32 inches long! The engineering hull is the size of my forearm!I had asked on Amazon if this kit came with the clear parts for the shuttle bay and bridge. 2 answered yes, 1 said no, and 1 gave me a copy and paste of the info on the box. The correct answer is NO. You have to buy the lighting kit from Polar Lights to get the clear shuttle bay and bridge. BUT, Wally at Starfleet Model Academy has a bunch of you tube videos that show how to light the opaque parts and it looks really good. If you can put up with the belches and farts, coarse language and silliness, it’s worth a watch.I’m giving this model five stars. It really is that good. If you’ve only built model kits from other manufacturers, you’ll be stunned. The shipping though, leaves SO much more to be desired.UPDATE:I finished this build 4 months ago but forgot to update my review. The lighting kit is from Tenacontrols and the whole build was very satisfying. Just take your time.

This is the best looking kit I've built from years of AMT kits
This is the best looking kit I've built from years of AMT kits. No longer do you have to worry about poorly fitting parts and it's built strong. The kit is designed for lights and polar lights sells an expensive light kit which I also purchased. This review reflects the kit with the additional purchase of the light kit.The GoodKit looks fantasticKit goes together wellThe included paint diagram is brilliantThe size is just awesomeThe BadThe instructions are rather poorThe instructions don't match the light instructions. You tend to to be building a part of the kit that might conflict with the lights construction. The shuttle bay lights just don't fit without serious modification.Lastly, I went with 9v rather than the included 12v for the lights because it was just too bright. This was a very challenging and fun build. Take your time and you'll be rewarded.

Just giddy with that new plastic smell....sigh.
I've been hunting for this model for some time and was very excited to see Polar Lights do a 50th Anniversary re-release. And I'm very happy I waited as this version has the smooth saucer section and the windows are pre-cut so it's designed for lighting. I went through the box as soon as I got it and was pleasantly surprised by different colored plastic pieces an updated painting guide (printed on a cardboard insert separate from the instructions). One could build a very nice looking model with minimal painting if they liked but the clear nacelle ends are just screaming for a fan and lights so I think I'll go that route.

Missing parts
Awesome model, wish the lighting kits came with it! Just started working on it and found that the whole set of windows for the lower hull are missing, this is very disappointing. Had to call polar lights and they will send replacement parts in 2 to 3 weeks, ouch!

Model is nice but...
This is a very nice model. Lots of detail. The only complaints I have are the alignment of the seams on the warp engine nacelles. One side is higher than the other so using putty filler is not easy. Not sure how to get around it other than to sand the high area down then smooth out with putty. With a model this expensive and that has been out this long you would think that this would have been resolved. I have not completed the model yet but so far this is the only big problem I have encountered. I will update as I progress through assembly.

Kit arrived promptly and well packed no obvious signs of damage so expect contents of box to be fine
Received promptly and box in good condition but will not be opening said kit till i am ready to start it. Currently doing millenium falcon kit which i estlmate will take 4 or 5 months to complete as i have only weekends to work on models. As for easy to assemble and accuracy won't know for a long time but from info i have gathered on the net so long as you take your time and stage your build correctly it should turn out well.

At 1/350 the TOS sjhip is a fine old ship with all the features. Lots of windows and relatively straight build. Fun, Fun!!
