Own several Flash Hobby motors. They have all been excellent performers. My favorite motor.

Not sure who decided a 7-inch prop was ideal for this motor, but they clearly never bench tested it. I’ve got it on my Ugly Stick running a 9x6 prop, pulling just 28 amps, and it’s performing beautifully. Based on the usual prop scaling (power draw increases roughly with the cube of the diameter and pitch), a 10x6 should pull around 36–38 amps. That’s still comfortably within spec for my 60A ESC, assuming you’ve got decent airflow and aren’t trying to cook marshmallows on your motor. Moral of the story? Don’t treat spec sheets like gospel—they’re more like polite suggestions. Flash Hobby makes some surprisingly solid motors. I’ve been testing multiple sizes from them, and every one has held up well. Just remember: test first, trust later. Marketing teams don’t fly your planes—you do.
