I Love This Stool
We bought this chair for our 8 year old son with ASD and SPD after he had used one at the Occupational Therapist's office. We decided on the 20in. Stool to allow enough height for him to reach our kitchen table. The only problem with that that we ran into was that his 8 yea old feet could not touch the floor and to compensate he would push back from the front edge of the seat and eventually would end up 3 feet away from the table. We gave him a stool to put his feet on to fix that unintended problem. This was an issue with him not being tall enough not in the design. The thing that did impress me was that even with all of the weight put on the front of the stool it did not topple over, it just slid a bit. Both my husband and myself have sat on it and it is fit our respective 5'7" and 5'9 perfectly. Regardless of this size issue (again our fault) this stool has helped him enormously! It gives him just enough room to fidget and move yet stay seated and concentrate while staying seated. I sent it to school with him two days ago as a test to see if it would help in his classroom at school. His teacher contacted me to let me know that although it was to tall for his desk they felt it really could help him if we ordered a 15 inch one. I promptly order it the same day without hesitation. The school was a little leery of using it at first as they had tried a different cheap stool that ended up falling over and injuring a student. They now have seen the design and they were impressed. I can not say enough about this as it help children with fidgeting, improve core strength, increases body awareness, and kids with certain issues need all of that! If I could give it more stars ai would without hesitation! I am looking forward to our 15 inch and my son even was able to pick his favorite color wich will make it all the more special for him.

What a wonderful birthday gift for our grandson
What a wonderful birthday gift for our grandson! He always makes a bee line for mine when he walks into the house. The Hokki stool is a great asset for those who wiggle constantly, but it also strengthens core muscles which benefits those with back issues. It doesn't take long to forget you are sitting on a unique stool and just allow the engineering of the stool to take over. It maybe hard to believe, but it is both comfortable and therapeutic!

I like this stool
I like this stool. I think it is helping me focus at work. But I find I get tired by the end of the day. I am back to work after having the summer off and I notice the days I used this stool I was very tired at the end of the day, and my eyes were very tired. Does anyone else experience very tired eyes after doing computer work for more than 4 hours while sitting on this stool? It might just be I have not done computer work all summer and I just need to adjust. But I do wonder if something about having to balance and focus on a computer screen at the same time makes my eyes tired.

Love this stool.
I'm about to order my second one of these. Picked it out about six months ago for my son, a wiggler, and at first he didn't care for it, so I claimed it. Now he keeps stealing it back, so we're getting another one. Lightweight, durable, and good for those who like to sit up straight and move a little. --> When I first started using this chair, there was definitely a conditioning period while my core muscles got into better shape. Also, if you wiggle around a bunch and you're a person of a certain age, you'll feel it in the ankles / knees / thighs depending on your mode of sitting / fidgeting. I do not recommend this if you don't have a good sense of how to stack your body so you are "at rest" in a upright, well-aligned posture. My husband who is a foot taller than me says that ours (I'm 5'6", using the 20" model) makes his back hurt. I don't know whether that's because it is too short for him, or he sits in it wrong, or his back just isn't made for it. I'm a writer and use mine 2-6 hours a day. Love it.

VERY INNOVATIVE
Very innovative. I tripped up on these and had no idea they even existed. I have a very energetic child and the stool has been amazing. I watch my 6 year old read while sitting on this thing. Sitting... like not really sitting but wiggling her butt all over the thing. Really seems as if the stool helps her concentrate. I didn't think this was possible. She very rarely sits on a regular chair. With the stool, she wiggles on the corner or sits in the middle and balances while wiggling. I just wish the blue was more teal. The blue is a little off for my kitchen color. The is a little high but I think she will grow into the stool. That was the only hard part to figure out. The stool is too tall, so we used another stationary foot stool that is used to sit on as an additional balance with her foot on occasion, when she balances completely. My child is VERY active; this was a win for us. I cannot say anything about the cost. The stool is very sturdy and seems well made. Yes, it hard plastic or resin. That doesn't to bother her.

Love it, my kids want to steal it, there needs to be a height-chart in the listing to help order the correct size
It's all been said by others - just adding my voice to the choir. These stools are super well made, very stable (no sense you could go over backwards), immediately intuitive in how to interact with them, radically reduce back & neck pain, and are just plain fun. One thing I wish was in the description is a relative person-hight-to-stool-height chart. I'm 5'4'' and purchased a 20'' stool, assuming 'tallest' also meant 'adult'. I'm pretty sure I would be better off with an 18'' model and it would have been handy to have a chart to keep me from ordering the incorrect size. I'm in luck, however, one of my tall kids is already trying to steal this stool - so I'll order myself the next smaller model :) Meanwhile, I'm having a blast at my desk. I had no idea how much I fidgeted and rocked until I could actually do it freely. The stool makes wiggling an asset rather than a deficit. Worth purchasing? Absolutely. Don't hesitate.
