Manchmal halten Markennamen, was sie versprechen. Große Auswahl an Mustern und Farben. Die Technik funktioniert zuverlässig. Die Mechanik ist stabil und das Stoffdach ist dicht. Nach ein paar Herbststürmen im letzten Jahr immer noch wie neu. Ein verlässlicher Begleiter mit einem festen Platz im Daypack. Der Preis erscheint mir dafür angemessen.

I love the look of this umbrella, the ease of deploying it, and the convenient cover it came with as well. However, based on reviews and reputation of the company, I think I was underwhelmed? It’s about average size for this type of umbrella, so not super compact for travel, but that was okay by me because I liked the auto feature. What I think was disappointing though was how very easily it blew inside out. I was in London for a week and used it daily; it wasn’t particularly windy, just seemed average with the occasional gust of wind. It folded inside out regularly, which made me question why I didn’t just get a manual fold and go for a more compact size if it was going to do that anyway. It didn’t break, so that was a plus!

This is a beautiful umbrella, very well thought and made. If for whatever reason I have to buy a new umbrella, it will be Knirps again!

Small size with qulity build

Knirps is a respected name in umbrellas, and this compact model does nothing to detract from that reputation. When folded, it is small enough to fit in a briefcase or shoulder bag (or in an automobile glove box), but when opened, it provides full coverage for the bearer. Although I have not yet tested t in a high wind, the metal ribs and sturdy construction promise solid performance. The fabric is attractive (I chose the Black Men's Check) and tough. The automatic pushbutton open and close mechanism works smoothly, but it does take a bit of effort to p ull the main stem down after the canopy has been closed. As other reviewers have noted, the zipper closure on the fabric case is an excellent feature -- no more tring to jam a folded umbrella into a too small opening and ripping the fabric! All in all, this is an attractive and practical folding umbrella which I will be proud to use and which looks like it will last for many years.
