The glass brewing set is very good looking and easy to clean.

I got this as I wanted an all glass V60, to reduce microplastic intake as the plastic ones were cracking like crazy from years of boiling hot water. The hot water doesn't come into contact with the circular bit which holds the cone on the carafe, but the circle thing is made of plastic. The handle isn't fully joined up to the cone either (presumably couldn't as it is plastic?) though as the glass is heavy the plastic handle bends under the weight of the glass when picking it up. So it feels a tad flimsy. I wouldn't trust this in a dishwasher owing to the plastic part. The benefit though is it does help with swizzling the V60 around on the carafe when pouring the water, sow thing which isn't so easy on the ceramic versions. The carafe had a very nice pour to it and an elegant form. I recommend it.

I've really been enjoying this set but the brewer just got chipped too easily. I was following a tip to preheat it by putting it over my kettle instead of the lid as it heats up. It's not the first time this has happened but today it slipped off, only falling 9 or 10 inches onto a wooden counter and it's chipped with big cracks going right down through the cone. The carafe seems sound even though it's fine glass, and probably without the kettle idea I'd be happy with this set for much longer, but it does seem a pretty fragile setup for everyday use round the kitchen. Will probably get a hario switch which is also glass but can keep full to preheat without kettle shenanigans 🤔
