I have a deep thin scratch on a stainless steel appliance the goes through to the black underneath. Can this be used to fill in the scratch?

I used it for that...BUT be aware that depending upon the finish of your appliance, it can strip away the finish on the adjacent stainless. The spot on mine had started to rust, and this did fill it nicely. I got a set of very thin art brushes. The consistency is thin like nail polish. Overall I thought it worked OK for a dyi fix.
