Is the print of numbers and letters easy to read?

Yes, the symbol of this kit is clearer than most other kits

The instructions say to partially remove the plastic on the area where you will place diamonds, but the plastic is just one big sheet. Any ideas?

so basically what I do is I lift up the plastic on the area where i’m going to place the gems and use the cup with gems to hold the plastic down with its weight. it’s better to partially remove the plastic just because it’ll be easier to put it back when you’re done placing the gems and also since it’s really sticky without the plastic. just start removing it from a corner or the bottom!

The numbers can sometimes be difficult to read, especially since the colors can be so close to each other in pigment. That said, I use a strong work light over my projects which helps tremendously. I have done several of these larger prints and have never had to give up or guess as to which number/color I had to use in any given area.
