The valve works great. Easy to install. Does install on standard 1in threads. Flows water very well. I have installed on a black storage tank that I use for my water well as a means of back up water and to keep my in ground well pump from constantly turning on and off through out the day. The only thing I found wrong was that the bottom weight was too light to keep the valve open. The problem was that when the float would go up the weight wasn't heavy enough to keep the valve open. So I added a 2oz fishing weight on the bottom and now it's stays open when the water rises and the float raises up to the correct level instead of being just above the weight at the bottom.

We have multiple of this exact item. Explored and tried others but these work. Use for water redistribution from water barrels, shuts off at set level and fills without stuttering. ONLY COMMENT, the FLOAT should be Heavier, we use metal nuts to weigh it down.

I bought this for a 2500-gallon water storage tank, (cistern). I set the depth of the bottom weight at about 3 feet. The tank is 8 feet deep. By doing this it means that the pump will only come on after the water volume has dropped about 1000 gallons. By doing this, considering the amount of water that we use each day for the house, the pump will only come on about twice a month. I have two of these tanks. I use one for a trailer that we are currently living in while the house is being built. I only fill the tank twice a month, manually turning the pump on and off. This saves on electricity but more importantly it should add to the life of the pump. Replacing a well pump is about a $7,000.00 expense. Note: I found that I needed to add more water to the weight bottle to make it a little heavier than suggested. I will be buying a second valve for the other tank.

Using it inside a water storage tank to top it off when we don't get enough rain. The design is very clever and it works well in this application. My only complaint is that the outlet is now leaking after only a few months in service. Think of a dripping faucet that you can't completely shut off. Tried flushing it with no success. Probably a bad seat. At least it's dripping into the tank so the water isn't being wasted, but it's still annoying.

We use this for fulling our cictern and it does a great job. We have veru hard water though, so we need to rince it every once in a while to keep it moving up and down because of all of the build up.
