Design Toscano Fairy of the West Wind Sitting Sculpture - Set of 2

I bought this as a gift, and I CAN NOT WAIT for our Christmas party next weekend to give it to her. This is the kind of thing that brings huge joy to anyone who loves fairies, and she also likes garden statues so it is double awesome in this instance...As to the product. I've been eyeballing Design Toscono merchandise for years but never yet bought any. Resin statues run the gamut from really amazing decorative items to sheer junk you find at gas stations, really you will never know until it's in hand, will it arrive intact? Will it be nice or feel like cheap stuff, will it be painted well or sloppily? THIS ITEM DELIGHTS ON ALL COUNTS. It was packaged really well in special fitted styrofoam, and while I hate styrofoam for the bits that get all over everything, it protected the statute very well. You have to put the wings on, they slot into place on the back, but that's better in terms of the item shipping safely and avoiding damage. It feels heavy and substantial, not cheap like some resin statues out there. It is painted beautifully. Really, if you're looking at this and wondering if it's as nice in person as it is in the photos...it totally is that nice. As for whether it will sit in a stable position, you have to put it on a really flat level surface, or it might not be stable...but what on earth else would one expect? The bottom is designed for it to sit on a flat surface with a 90 degree edge, like the top of a bookshelf or a pedestal or something. A stack of bricks or a step would work too. If your surface doesn't fit these criteria, you'll have to improvise a solution like some kind of cement or adhesive. But sitting properly level, it doesn't rock or tip easily. Because my gift recipient has pets that may knock it over, I will caution her to either adhere it to something solid or put it where they can't get to it.My dear friend is gonna love this. I'm so tickled with it.Oh, and the price on it was VERY reasonable for something this size and this nice. I will absolutely be buying more Design Toscono stuff in the future...got my eye on a certain dragon table...

I bought this to sit on a bench between some flowers. It’s the cutest thing. I love the whimsy especially over the summer months. I’m hoping it won’t discolor, but so far a great addition to my outdoor summer garb

We bought this fairy to sit on the stump of a tree that we had to cut down. She is playing to a smaller figure with the Green Man looking on. It’s the best feature in the garden. She is beautiful and well made. Toscano does a great job.

Extremely nice quality and detail; just what you’d hope it to be. Handle with care, though. It is extremely fragile [must be Italian!]. Before I could get it placed, one of the wings broke and the fairy broke off the mushroom. Not difficult to repair, but wasn’t expecting it to be that fragile.

I have been wanting to purchase this unique delicate sculpture for over a year and when I was ready to purchase it was "OUT OF STOCK". My fault, I wasn't surprised! I wanted it for my grandtwins, #that is what I told myself#, but it was a beautiful delicate detailed sculpture I had to have. After a month or two, it was back and I ordered it immediately through AMAZON! I received it and opened it immediately. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! It arrived with the wings unattached for shipping. There were no recommendations for attaching the wings and nothing to describe which wing went where, #each wing is slightly different# so I used a file to shape the wing attachment prongs a little and used a clear tough adhesive called "GOOP" that seems to work very well. GOOP can be found at most arts and crafts shops. It dries quickly and is strong and VERY tough. Use some large rubber bands to hold them in position until completely dried #24 hours is good#. I am absolutely pleased with this fine sculpture and you will find it a beautiful addition to your home/collection. Another plus is the lines of the sculpture are so fine that it really looks as if she is swinging and moving with her music coming from her flute that only you hear. My next purchase will be The Daydream fairy by Toscano.

I use to order from this company all the time- never again. I do not believe this has any stone in it at all "crushed and mixed with resin" or any other sort of stone, it's light weight plastic and will never withstand the wind on the eastern plains of colorado... don't waste your hard earned money, if you do.. pick something up at walmart, it will likely be sturdier than this.

I love this beautiful Garden statue. I love how she is reaching for the water where I have placed her in the pond waterfall. I only wish she weighed more. I have to lay her down in a storm. But I love her so much I can do that. Great details in her dress and the mushroom.

Arrived early, completely in tact no issues. This was the perfect size and felt sturdy despite how delicate the features are. The statues is absolutely gorgeous, exactly as pictured; in fact better then the photos. Great surface placement, found no issues placing her. I consider her the center peice of the pond now. I now feel the need to spruce it up more to match how gorgeous she is. Worth the buy.
