Following the instructions to the letter
Worked like a charm. You have to follow the instructions to the letter or you will have a leak on your new pump. 1 hour finger tight on the bolts and then be patient and wait the full 24 hours after torque on the bolts before refilling the system.

I truly recommend this
If your a mechanic you know that most water pump failures come from a leaking gasket and many water pump kits come with terrible paper gaskets you have to fight to get centered when putting them on (early 2000s mercury mountaineers come with like 14 bolts). Take out two birds with one stone. Small bead of this--bloop, paper gasket on--pat and bolts in. No more dreaded leaks and replacing aftermarket pumps 3 times in the span of a couple years and no dreaded headache installing a simple water pump. Get your shop to buy a tube of this every waterpump replacement, put it on parts for the customer and your doing them a service.
