Frenchi Home Furnishing Chess Table with Two Drawers

It is a Beautiful piece of furniture. Easy to assemble. The squares are not 2.25# though they are 2". Not a big deal though, I'll just scale my models down to fit properly when I print them.

Lovely table. I am not a handy person at all but it was very easy to put together. I actually bought the same table years ago on another website. I spilled something on it that took off the varnish. I loved the table so much that I looked for it and found it on Amazon for a little less than I originally paid. I would highly recommend this table to others.

To say that you get your money's worth is pale in description when reviewing this table. Everything fitted together like the blocks of stone that built the pyramids of Geza... Need I say more...? I shouldn't have to but I'm so pleased with this table I think I need to.. The wood is a beautiful color and gives the table a look of elegance. If you didn't buy a set of pieces that only could have been hand carved you would be doing this table a true injustices as well as yourself, because you will be kicking yourself for not doing so... I promise you, you will be very pleased when you unpack and assemble this table together for yourself or as a gift for someone you love...!

Very cool and good material

Wanting a chess table for some time decided to opt for an inexpensive version (some chess tables on Amazon run hundreds). So I figured I am not buying a quality piece but a functional piece to play chess on. Looking at quite a few negative that speak about wrong draw position relative to the board setup; table alignment related to the table surface and the table base. All concerned me but thought I give it a try. My experience: The table did have a small area on the main spindle stand that I needed to use furniture markers to cover and blend the small damage. Nothing too much to complain about. Then came the assembly. If you are careful it will go well. Some complain of predrilled holes to attached the top to the base. The screws are self tapping - no predrilled holes needed. In fact this allows you to do the alignment correctly as you have to make sure the square top is “squre” to the square table foot. A little measuring and templating. Not an issue. I was glad to see that the framing is real wood. Parts are composite: the draws; the connecting piece for the top attachment. Instructions are really a picture. But I’d you look at the pieces they fit together logically. Final thoughts: I would buy again. The value for the money is very good. It is made of real wood where it matters most. It has been holding up to play with no issues. So he’s - I recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive functional piece that is pleasant to the eye and holds up to use (so far- 6 weeks of play) Are there better tables - yes. Are they more expensive - yes. Does this table meet my needs - yes. Oh, I saw a picture of a review that rated the table a 5-star. The draws were incorrectly positioned relative to the board placement (white square on the right). My copy was correctly manufactured. So that Janine feature that would be a hit and miss. One last “oh” - the damage I mentioned occurred at the factory as the the packaging was immaculate and no wood chips were in the box. Hope this helps.

first off this is not a $500 chess table. don't expect oak wood and craftsmanship painting. it actually looks really nice for being made in china. it was super easy to put together. all you need is a Philips head screwdriver. they supply an allen wrench. the drawers have a satisfying wood on wood drag to them when you move them. they are deep enough to hold a 1 7/8" diameter (max, I measured) chess piece on it's side. plenty tall enough. I would highly suggest getting a chess set with a king 3 1/2" - 3 3/4". the squares are 2 inch. I purchased a set that was 3.6" and I couldn't be happier. house of chess sells a rosewood and boxwood set for a decent price on their website. amazing detail by the way. fyi this is a big table. take measurements before you buy.

This was a Christmas gift and one corner of the table was damaged. Could not make contact with Frenchi Furniture. All their contact info was invalid. Had to chat via Amazon which was circular or wait on hold indefinitely. Customer service talking directly to someone is the best. Neither Amazon nor Frenchi Furniture provided such personal service. Oh and Amazon if it's because day after Christmas is incredibly busy, not a surprise, hire adequate personnel to provide and meet the needs of your customers.

Absolutely love it. Great price for an awesome table and worth every penny.

Mooie schaaktafel met extra groot schaakvlak, elk vakje ca.5x5 cm. Schaakstukken 3,7inch passen er goed bij. Tafel is makkelijk te monteren, en ook belangrijk: was degelijk ingepakt en daardoor schadevrij ontvangen! Eerlijk gezegd had ik wel mijn twijfels na het lezen van de negatieve recensies, maar ik vermoed dat de fabriek ervan heeft geleerd.
