Lampe Berger Basic Catalytic Burner

I was constantly looking for a device with which to infuse fragrance into our home, but most options were rather feeble. The Lampe Berger is efficient and it is quite amazing at eliminating odors from cooking, pets and other offensive sources. The selection of fragrances is huge but one should be patient in finding just the right one. Some are "heavy" and can be overwhelming but in time, the right one will make itself known. I couldn't be more pleased with this product.

We have had our Lampe Bergers for many years and the stone finally stopped lighting. We ordered this package and it arrived extremely quickly. The product came in one piece, I always appreciate not having to assembly a ton of pieces. We simply took out our old stone and put this one in. Let it soak in the oil for an hour or so and it worked like a charm. This is high quality, and expect it to be usable for years to come.

This burner has worked great for me for several weeks now, and I use it constantly. Tips: 1. Don't fill the lampe all the way up. 2. Be sure to put the cap on whenever the lampe is not in use so that the burner can soak and be ready for the next time. 3. Be careful with the burner, especially when refilling the lampe, because it's fragile, and if you mess up the stone, you might have to replace it. UPDATE (5-16-2014): I'm ordering a new burner today after using it about twice a week for 2½ years. I'm quite pleased with its longevity, to say the least!

This is my third purchase of this product from third seller (Hope and Faith) over 5 years...I have a love of lampes, so I always order extra stones when I get a new lampe. Important things to know: this is the shorter wick; despite the photo, the wick sheath is silver (I already knew this, since this is my third time ordering), Amazon & Hope and Faith send genuine Lampe Berger wicks. Last year's that I burn every other day for at least 3 hours a day and often forget to shut has not cracked or clogged, though I never use lampe oil bc of migraines (91% alcohol + few drops of essential oil then a round of plain 91%). I'm still using the one from 3 years ago, too, so the quality has held up. Side note: I was pleased as punch to order two in this previous order and only pay a single shipping cost.

Update, May 2019: I discovered something with these wicks and burners: My two units both had very low levels of fragrance, and the catalytic burners wouldn't catch on either one. In the past, I would have simply bought two new catalytic burners and wicks. But I decided to try filling both bottles half full, letting them sit for an hour or so, and trying again. They both lighted, no problem! And have worked fine for a few more burns since then. So it could be that the catalytic burner just gets too dry when the units are low on fragrance. A happy, money-saving discovery! I just purchased this to replace the one from my Bingo pack, which became unusable after very few uses (less than 20). This is the exact same product, so I'm hoping it lasts longer. This time, I won't let it burn for 2 minutes at start-up. I tried it with only 1 minute and it worked just fine. Hopefully, this will help.
