Pictures of unit & discription are not the same? will this unit test r/o water when it's 5 to 36 ppm or 5 to 40 tds? thanks, bobby

Bobby, This meter has 3 scales as indicated: 0-50, 0 - 500, 0 - 5000 Total Disolved Solids reported as ppm. Technically they all measure conductivity. The TDS meters use a resistor to multiply conductivity by 0.6 and call it TDS. True Total Disolved Solids is a gravimetric method determined by evaporating a solution to dryness and weighing the difference with an Analytic Balance. The 0-50 scale should work for you but did you know that Myron L makes RO meters? RO-1, RO Meter: 0-1250 ppm with color band. RO-1NC, RO Meter: 0-1250 ppm without color band.
