Works well, and better than others, treat it carefully
2023: Seems to work just fine. I also bought an off-brand import version of this that is just a "Y" of the wires. The block piece on this one is just a little cumbersome and may get in the way for use while walking, hiking, biking, etc. but it should not be too troublesome. I bought this for play in the car, so that's less of a concern for me. I already had a ground loop noise isolator for the car, and I have not tried this item without it, so I cannot speak to any potential interference when used without one. The sound quality appears to be good. Many of these advertise a bit rate and frequency. I do not believe there is anything exceptional to this item in that regard. Craftmanship can be a factor there too though. I have not really tested the limits in terms of sound quality (loud play, complicated songs with lots of bass and/or treble), but so far it plays well. ***Update 2026: I know this one has some durability concerns, but this is still the best option out there. Mine lasted just short of 3 years with regular use in the car, and me paying little mind to its care. It started cutting out with even the slightest movement at that point. Still, this is the best sound option that I have found. Other brands require a higher volume setting to get the same sound, and some randomly cut out from the get-go. Also, this is the only item that has allowed me to stay plugged into my car speakers and run calls with my phone's mic (Teams, regular phone), while other brands do not (they will give care speaker sound, but my mic will not operate). So durability concerns aside, I got 3 years out the first unit, it has the best sound that I have found, and it works with my phone's mic while plugged in. If I have to keep buying every 3 years, that is not great, but far from terrible considering the amount of use and the functionality.

Poor Quality
Third and last one I will buy. First lasted about 1.5 years. Second one lasted about 11 months. The most recent lasted 2 days!! All failed due to not passing the charge feed through to the IPad. Not so bad but when that happens it kills the audio feed to the jack and stops the podcast. Worthless waste of money!

I bought 2
I trust the Belkin brand. I bought 2 of them and straight outta the box one of them wasn't working properly. Plug in the 3.5 and it works. Plug in the power and it stops charging my phone and cuts off the music! Please help me to rectify this issue. I'll be checking out the other one tomorrow. I am really under the weather and want to connect my head to some music and fall asleep! Sincerely, John Houser

Works perfect with Samsung Galaxy S22 (UPDATE, both have failed)
(See end for update) Wife got a Samsung Galaxy S22 with it's non-existent headphone port. This works perfect with it. A little clunky due to the size, but I give it a pass because the size makes for more durable construction. Went with Belkin brand for their reputation and glad I did. **UPDATE: Both have failed. Bought a second unit when I upgraded my phone. Wife's failed about a year after purchase. Mine failed after 18 months. Neither had physical damage, they just stopped being recognized by the device. Worked great, then *poof!* Both tried on multiple devices to isolate the problem. Knocking rating to 3 stars for the lack of durability.

Buy once, cry once
It might seem expensive, but if you have an old car but a new phone, then this is the solution you need because you can charge your phone and output to your AUX all via your USB-C (there is a lightening version available too). I tried cheaper variants before this which didn't last or wouldn't charge properly so eventually I paid up for the Belkin and it's been working like a charm. I took off one start because, as good as it is, it feels like a lot of money for a tiny dongle. Lastly, my set-up is: Cigarette charge with usb-c port --> USB C cable to the Belkin dongle, 3.5mm stereo cable from Belkin dongle to AUX on stereo, USB C connector on dongle to Iphone

Wears out after 1 month.
Initially a great product. But after about a month, it no longer works. If you use this for a kid’s iPad, don’t bother.

Marvelous!
Excellent gadget. Saved me hundreds of dollars. My 2005 truck only has an AUX input port and that stopped working when my new phone came without a 3.5mm phone jack. Bluetooth does not work with my old radio. In order to get Bluetooth connectivity, I would have had to install a new radio and matching speakers. I could have purchased a Bluetooth adapter to connect the 3.5mm AUX plug into the AUX input, but reading reviews on alternative Bluetooth dongle adapters, convinced me that there are volume and noise problems. I just tried the Belkin RockStar™ 3.5mm Audio with USB-C Charge Adaptor plugged into my AUX in jack and it is providing excellent results. I can make and receive phone calls and the cell phone charges just fine. Streaming music is static free. Liking this solution the best. Pros: It works with the phone set at low to mid volume. Works with my antiquated radio and amplifier. Excellent sound. I would buy another one to replace it should it ever fail in the future. I would recommend it to friends and strangers. Cons: Not free, but a reasonable price. DISCLAIMER: This review was not generated using AI, nor was it part of any sponsored promotion. I'm just a regular guy trying to save a few bucks.
