Lamiglas Redline - Salmon & Steelhead Fishing Rod

This rod is very nice. I have a couple X-11s for salmon fishing and I just love the action and feel of the Lamiglas rods. With Lamiglas, I feel like you get a product of exceptional quality, at an excellent price. This rod, for $70, handles just as well as the $250 St. Croix I own. And at a quarter the price, I feel more confident bringing it with me up the mountain for some high lake trout fishing. I was initially looking for a light power, fast-action rod, and this rod is exactly that. It is feather light, and the action is fast/mod-fast which is perfect for twitching little jig heads tipped with crawler, or small spinners and spoons like I love to use for panfish and trout. It is soft enough to set a hook well on a bluegill, but firm enough to get in the occasional 2-3 pound smallie I'll hook from time to time. Could not ask for a better rod. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this rod was black. It is deep black, with an almost carbon fiber like appearance. Unlike the other X-11's that are dark red, and unlike the picture on the Amazon page. Very attractive...not that that matters to the fish, but I just love both the look and feel. The guides are not ceramic, they are just stainless with no inner liner (as advertised). What else? Yeah I'm gunna be a Lamiglas guy from now on.

I usually only run ugly sticks because everything else always breaks. I’m rough on my stuff. I fish day and night, but this rod is awesome. Had it for about three weeks right now no problems came securely shipped in a tube. We’ll see how long it lasts but the action is awesome for trout in Connecticut

I REALLY like this rod, but the first time I inserted the butt section into the tip, a fine sliver peeled away. I was headed fishing the next day so I just tucked the sliver (it didn't detach) into the tip with the rest of the butt and went fishing! Excellent light action and the guides are nice and slick. I didn't return it as it worked so well even with the sliver, and after fishing season I contacted Lamiglas who told me there was a service fee and shipping fee to send it in for warranty. Two years later I've not taken it apart and it's still slaying fish!

Went steelhead fishing with my buddies for the first time after buying all this expensive gear including the Lamiglas Redline. Sent out my first cast, second, third, etc…. And then I got my first snag. First tug on the pole broke the top of the rod straight in half with hardly want pressure applied. Product made cheap. Used the rod one single time and broke immediately… that should not happen on poles this expensive. Very dissatisfied.

Unmatched for drifting for larger trout in rivers or over sand flats for resident blackmouth or flounder. Caught a rockfish off of it and it handled it super well, and the sensitivity with braid is unreal.

Package had minimal packing inside but glad nothing was broke. Seems like a knock off or lamiglas changed there butts cause it’s not like my others but it worked fine on the DR
