Not sure where all the negative reviews are from or who's writing them but this level is the absolute dog's bo**ocks. It is absolutely accurate although I've only tested it up to a few metres and it's so simple a child could use it. It's tiny so fits in a tool belt and takes up no space, it's solid and it costs next to nothing compared to others with similar specs. This thing is well worth the few quid it cost and will be getting a pounding over the next few months. Fantastic bit of kit.

Given many of the laser measures on the market are far more expensive I was somewhat dubious about the quality this would be. I needn't have been worried, it appears to be good quality and certainly does the job. I only needed some measurements of my loft for insulating, so 100% accuracy wasn't an issue (although I'm sure the device is accurate), but given the distance was over 48ft. (with a wall in the middle) and I only had a 16ft tape measure it would have been a pain to try to measure manually. With the laser, it took all of a few seconds (and is probably more accurate than I would have been). As a device I will only use a few times, the £18 price tag isn't too bad, I'm sure any professional DIYer's or contractors may well prefer a much more expensive brand name and will probably get some additional functionality that this cheaper unit does not have, but it did what I needed it to and did it quickly and without any fuss. Good enough for me. :)

I bought this laser meter as a gift and I made the recipient very happy. He praised its ease of use, accuracy and mainly time saving.

I purchased the 100m version (Mmm..I think 100m is on the outrageously optimistic side). It's quite intuitive and easy to use. Smaller than I thought. Decent for internal measurements, and a nice, clear display. Good luck trying to use it outside in daylight as the red laser dot isn't visible on anything over a 3 or 4 metre distance. I guess the small reflective card (supplied) is to be used in these cases, as well as on long internal measurements. But try hitting that small card over 15 or 20m in broad daylight when you can't see the red dot until it meets the little card - you will be there all day. I bought it for some garden measurements, so I'll either have to do these at night or revert to the good old steel tape measure. In no way is this a viable outdoor alternative to pro instruments like Leica Disto etc that I used to use at work, but those are five times the price. You generally get what you pay for...

I had one of these before, and had trouble with it because it was simply difficult to deal with harder to use than it was worth. This one is small compact but not too small as to being hard to find or easy to lose. They’re only a few buttons so it’s economical as far as the set up is concerned it doesn’t have too many options which is what you really want. at least I want to tape measure that’s just a tape measure. I don’t want a bunch of bells and whistles. I simply want to measure things and this does that, it’s not hard to configure or understand and it turns on, and turns off is very easy to make calculations on everything is simple. The only extra thing it does is it will calculate one measurement and subtract one from the other which is handy. I wouldn’t want more than that. It also has the ability to measure from the tip or from the base of the tool meaning that you can make a measurement from the top or the bottom, depending upon how you wanna work and this is also handy all around I love it it’s a great toy and a useful tool the same time, I’m not sure how long the batteries will last but so far I’ve been using it for about a month and a half I think without any trouble
