Best Deal for a FABULOUS Product
So I love this product. I am in a pretty serious recovery process, involving massive skin grafts all along my booty. They itch like nothing in this world. They are red and puffy, and sometimes painful. After many weeks in the hospital, and a few follow up visits with my doctor, I was given a prescription for Mepiform. Having been using Mepilex Lite for the last month, it didn't take much convincing for me to purchase this. This product is wonderful. Number one, its easy to cut and sticks easily to the wound site. Much better adhesive than the mepilex, though if it sticks to itself, you're done. Game over. You will not salvage that piece. Number two: its washable. Let that sink in. You can take these strips, clean them with a little antibacterial body wash, rinse and let them dry. In a few hours they are sticky again. I can usually get 4-5 uses out of a single sheet. Number three: pain, itching, and scarring have significantly decreased. I tend to put this on problem areas, ones that are most often irritated, the ones in most danger of becoming big unsightly scars. This not only helped reduce the swelling, but softened the collagen in the skin, making it easier for me to break up during my routine moisturizing sessions. (I lay there and massage lotion into my butt skin until the skin graft/collagen dissolves/looks like the rest of my butt skin) I have significantly reduced my scar mass. I no longer fear having a great big permanent red tramp stamp scar across the top of my butt. It was especially helpful on the tailbone. It was just too painful to massage for long periods of time. Mepiform has helped in leaps in bounds. My only issue is the price. Though a box is shown, this listing is for individual sheets. Okay, stupid me for not reading more carefully. Still a good deal for this product, especially since my prescription insurance ended just in time for me to need this gem. Still love this product. Absolute life saver.

Easy way to diminish a scar
This is an easy and clean way to diminish a scar. Once my hand surgery healed and I went to physical therapy, they gave me a piece of this silicone dressing tape to use on my scar. I had always used Mederma which smells disgusting, is messy and has to be used several time a day. This tape can be removed and put back on for several days. It comes in one big sheet and can be cut to size so there is no waste. I tried using another brand and it didn't stick nearly as well. This product is expensive but well worth it. I can barely see my scar from surgery just 3 months ago.

This was recommended by my oncological surgeon's head nurse at John's Hopkins ...
This was recommended by my oncological surgeon's head nurse at Johns Hopkins after my surgical scars started to hypertrophy and become raised and started to look like keloid scars. Nobody told me how to use it and online instructions were contradictory. I asked my reconstructive surgeon and her nurse during a follow-up visit and they said you can leave it on while you shower. Other instructions tell you to remove it and replace it during your daily wash, and you can replace with same pieces you had just removed, but that's kind of time consuming and annoying; i know, because that's what I tried at first and i stopped using it. Now i basically leave it on for up to 3 weeks and my usually very sensitive skin has had no adverse reactions, while the hypertrophic scarring noticeably/significantly reduced. Even my reconstructive surgeon was pretty surprised. I'm using it for a 2nd 3-week round after leaving it off for 2 weeks, and will check back in. My conclusion up to this point is that this product is effective in reducing raised/hypertrophic/keloid scars and one sheet of this size can last a very long time if you use it the way i do, which is to cut and place small pieces directly over the scars and just leave it on there as long as it stays, which can be up to 3 weeks. It stays put during showers. I'm really glad this was recommended to me and that i found out how to use it. Update 2/28/16: The scars are no longer raised. Definitely try this product before resorting to the steroid injections which can cause skin discoloration which is much worse than the scar itself.
