I welded this winch to a threaded steel coupler to use for my heavy-duty steel patio umbrella. It works perfectly for that application. The construction is solid, with a smooth-operating directional pawl and nice spool bearings. The parts have almost no free play at all and it holds tight when engaged. The hook works well and the cable is more than strong enough to handle heavier loads. I did have to rewind the cable on the spool to make sure it was tightly wound, to prevent binding, but other than that, it's flawless. It cranks up my patio umbrella and keeps it taught with ease. I'm looking forward to many years of reliable use with this item...

Works great for my wall mounted floor jack project! I replaced the cable with a strap and removed the handle to use an electric drill with a 3/4” deep socket to raise and lower it.

I have an antenna I need to lower and raise. This is well built, but I removed the wire rope and replaced it with a rope. Works really well for raising ad lowering my antenna.

Fit my need, but started rusting within a week. With a little paint repair it will be a better product.
