Hey, this works!
We've been using the hand-held "plier" type squeezer. I say "we"... , I'm the one who has been doing all the squeezing since my wife has some trouble with her hands. There had to be a better, smarter, more effective/efficient way. Enter this counter-top squeezer. Wow. This is so quick and easy to use, and it's so efficient! Those lemons and limes don't stand a chance! When I get through with them, they're dry! It's really nice that the handle goes to the bottom of the stroke and lightly locks there. I let it stay there for three or four seconds until the juice stops dripping. It's very easy to clean and it sits nicely in its own little patch of counter top. It's quite sturdy. It's well-made. Ergonomic. Efficient. Well worth the price! If you do a lot of squeezing, this squeezer will make you giddy!

This is the best hand powered juicer we have owned. We highly recommend it.
My wife and I have had several types of hand powered juicers, this juicer is the easiest to use of all the ones we have owned.. It take much less force to extract juice from fruit. We used it to juice lemons. Our last juicer required as much force as we could deliver and it still wouldn't remove all the juice from each lemon half. Afterward, we could squeeze the lemon by hand and get more juice out of it. This new unit gets all the juice out with a fraction of the force required. It is built solid and is ease to clean. The manual is ease to understand. It has some legal stuff at the beginning and after that is the useful information. Note, you will need to find a container to collect the juice as the fruit is squeezed. I suggest using a clear measuring cup that is short enough to fit under the funnel. that way it is easy to see when it is getting full. Full disclosure, we purchased this item with our own money.

Excellent Juicer but watch your fingers!
I have two orange trees and a lemon tree so I've been juicing for years. I've always used an electric juicer but had my eye on the more expensive version of this hand pressed juicer. I finally bit the bullet during a black friday sale and bought this less expensive version. Pros: QUIET! Love that I can juice early in the morning without the grinding electric sound. Its very easy to use and extracts more juice then the electric one's ever did. The handle glides up and down with ease and very little pressure is needed, unlike the electrics where you need to push down and sometimes move the citus around to get all sides juiced. So much easier to clean as well. Electric juicers kind of dance around my counter so I have to keep a towel under then, they also drip. This manual one doesn't budge. Its also better at keeping seeds and pulp out. Cons: While doing a big batch of oranges I didn't lift the handle fully and when I went to remove an orange it slammed down on my finger REALLY hard!! Left a dent and was sore for good amount of time. This could be a very tragic injury if little hands are helping. I now keep one hand on the handle at all times. The only other downside is the two feet at the base are not wide enough or tall enough for a cup to fit under to collect the juice. I use a sandwich tupperware to straddle the feet and its low enough to fit under. If anyone else has a suggestion I'd love to hear it. Possibly the more expensive version doesn't have the con's I've experienced but my husband and I plan to move in a couple years and most likely wont have fruit bearing trees so its not worth the investment for me at this time. But I do wish I had purchased it much much sooner! I would probably have juiced a lot more.

A very nice product with a few flaws
I am giving this product 5 stars, but it could be better. As someone else has pointed out the handle does not lock in the upright position. I knew this before I purchased but I didn’t think it was a big deal. I have been “bitten” by this thing 2 times already. Case 1: this is when the handle is up and you go to remove the juiced orange it is natural for you to use two hands to remove the orange remains, sometimes it gets a little stuck. In this position if you hit the upper part of the squeezing mechanism the handle is heavy enough to bring down the pressing parts on any part of your hand that may still be inside getting the squeezed orange residue out. When this happens you can get quite a nasty bruise on your finger…ask me how I know. Case 2 another thing that can happen is that with the handle up (and I do tend to leave it up), if you are doing something that jars the mechanism the handle itself can deal a powerful blow to your nose/glasses/face…once again, ask me how I know. I would suggest some sort of magnet positioned to restrain the handle until it is purposely pulled down, I guess there could also be some sort of spring to do the same, but that would add extra resistance while pressing down on the fruit, or maybe a counter weight on the handle to give it sort of a neutral weight. I know there are a lot of similar models on the market which likely have the same issue. This squeezer does a great job on lemons and smallish oranges but when you get the big navel oranges they squeeze around the edge of the top pressing cup without getting fully juiced. What to do? Buy smaller oranges or rather than cutting the orange in half you can take a slice out of the middle ~1/3 inch and set it aside press the remaining “not quite half’s” and get about the same amount of juice plus some nice orange slices that can be cut in half and saved as easy to eat tasty treats. As a final note don’t buy a juicer to save money, I figure a gallon of home made OJ cost $20-24 dollars, unless you can get free oranges somewhere…If you want cheap, go to the store, if you want fresh good stuff and possibly with a side order orange slices get one of these things…just be careful to not get bit.

I am really impressed with this citrus press. It feels sturdy and professional from the moment you take it out of the box and it has made juicing oranges and lemons so much easier. The handle moves smoothly and you get a surprising amount of juice with hardly any effort. The build quality is excellent. It sits firmly on the counter without wobbling and the heavy base gives you confidence that it is not going anywhere while you are using it. The parts that come into contact with the fruit are easy to remove and wash and everything feels robust enough to last for years. I have used it for oranges, lemons and even limes and it handled them all without fuss. It produces clean, pulp free juice and leaves the rinds almost dry which shows how effective it is. If you like fresh juice or cook with citrus often, this is a brilliant tool to have in the kitchen. It looks smart, works beautifully and feels like a proper upgrade from the little handheld squeezers. I am very pleased with it.
