Great razor!!
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have had this razor for about three weeks now and shave with it every day. I found out several years ago that three or more blades is too many to deal with, as they would cause razor burn and irritation. However, using a traditional double edged razor wasn't giving me the close shave I wanted either. The Gillette Sensor seemed to be my best bet, but the cartridges are a bit pricey and the pivot-head really didn't do much for me, so I stuck with my Edwin Jagger DE. However, I had issues with optimal blade angle and safety. (I cut a chunk out of my thumb trying to untwist the blade head on my previous razor, because it was stuck.) Knowing that I had previously had success with twin blade razors, I decided to look on Amazon and see if there was a Trac II razor. This one has the perfect heft and ergonomic design, and the cartridges are easy to change. Some reviews have said that the handle is slippery. However, I dry my hands thoroughly after lathering my face, and I have had no issues with that. It feels perfect to me. I did have some redness for a few days as I adjusted to the twin blades, after using a single blade razor for a long time. However, I did get used to it, and now I just get a close shave every day, with no nicks or irritation, and it looks great. Thank you, Amazon.

Balance at Your Fingertips; Smooth as a Baby's Bottom
OK so it's taken me a while to review this. Kinda fits with my attitude that often the best things are not brand spanking new. I've been using a twin blade for more years than the number of hairs in a three-day beard stubble. Why waste money on the zillion blades per cartridge when two work just as well, if not better? After my original blade handle finally fell apart I went big time and bought this solid, heavy handle. Ooo the balance. The weight. If you've ever used a quality hammer, or a quality cutting knife you know what I mean. I buy my twin blade cartridges direct from the manufacturer. They fit nice and tight with this handle. They say a good carpenter never blames his tools for a bad job. On the other hand, a quality tool makes the job almost effortless and the results superb. This is a quality handle. You will not be disappointed. Just remember to buy your blades from the manufacturer. I use Persona. At thirty cents a pop you won't be wasting your money on the zillion blade cartridges from the brand-name manufacturers that overcharge way too much.

Overpriced junk
This thing is an over priced cheap piece of crap. It was compared to some other brands that I have used and I see no resemblance myself. It does not swivel the package containing the blades came in partially broken and some of the blades we’re loose in the package and no way to put them back because the container is broken. On top of everything else. The package was late by three days so now I still have to find a needed razor. I will return as soon as possible.

Nice Razor handle
I have been looking for a handle to not replace the old but so I could have one in two locations. I community from one end of the stat to the other so I prefer not to carry all these stuff every two weeks but leave a set in both locations. This handle for the price is an amazing value, good weight, balance slightly off but I adjusted quickly, some minor groves in the smooth surface or pebbling would allow for better grip when hands are soapy or have residue cream on them. On the other hand I like the smooth finish polished look they way my face should be when I am complete with the shaving process smooth and clean. I love the look and I love the weight of the handle and they were nice enough to include enough free blades to make it usable out of the box. Nice handle, worth the purchase price, last a life time.

Do you want to cheap out on something that gives you control of the blade on your throat before you have your coffee?
Once the drug store brands hiked their prices through the roof, I stopped shaving much, and switched to a rotary electric. Most of the times when I used it, I craved the closeness of a proper blade shave, but I wasn't about to pay three and a half bucks (or more) per cartridge. (I remember the store price being north of a half-sawbuck per cartridge.) No. Not going to. So, last year, a friend was discussing shaving and I groused about the price of the fast triple-blade razors. They suggested one of the shave clubs on the 'net, saying that the blades were good, and I looked, but the price was still horrendous. Then I wondered to myself "What does Amazon have to offer?" My usual triple blades ran from a buck and a half to a little over three per cartridge - nope. Racking my brain, I was able to remember "Trac II" (I traded my safety razor for Trac II), looked on Amazon for that, and found these blades and a selection of handles. The price on the blades seems too good to be true, but they are good blades. The price of the handle is dear, but you're going to use it to hold a razor-sharp blade to your throat before you've had coffee. It's not the time to cheap out. After seven weeks, you've paid for the handle, so after that, you're saving money. After having used this handle with them for a couple of months, I can say that it's well-manufactured, fits in my hand well, and hasn't given me a single problem. The blades slide on (snugly) and slide back off with some effort.

Years looking.. Finally found one that works!
When I was a young man, my dad gave me a razor handle from England that he didn't want. At first I just kept it and used an electric for many years, using the razor when I needed a close shave. As I got older and the electric wasn't cutting it, I tried different razors (triple blades, dual blades, even once tried a folding razor). In the end, nothing seemed to work as well as that old razor from England. The triple blades were okay - just expensive, so I switched back to twins again. As the handle got rattier and rattier, I looked for a replacement and tried other blade handles. No joy. The old razor was just heavy, weighted low on the handle, thin necked, and when grasped at the base; ran smoothly and steady across my face. For whatever reason, a symmetric or lighter handle will cause cuts and nicks. When I saw this one, I had to give it a shot - and very glad I did. Tried it and it seems just as good as my old ratty handle. I'm typing this because I'm buying my *second one* (as a backup in case I ever lose my new replacement). And no.. I didn't get squat for writing this.. And yes, I paid full price.. And yes, I am an opinionated, cranky old guy who isn't afraid to speak his mind. If this sucked, I'd say so.

A decent replacement
After fifteen or so years, my Gillette razor began splitting in half. I purchased this as the reviews were decent and I do not like newer 5-10 bladed razors. I just don't get them. On the plus side, this razor looks nice and is a solid weight. It accepts the blades I like-Atra (or Wilkinson double) blades. Two things I have noticed, as you can see, the handle is smooth. You have to rinse shaving cream from one hand to hold it as there are no notches, pattern or way to grip it otherwise. Very slippery in the shower. Also, the head does not pivot as my old one did, so there is an adjustment to get as close a shave as with the older handle. Overall, it is a decent replacement, but not "quite as good". But I imagine this is as good as it will get for a dual bladed razor...
