Know What You're Getting Yourself Into...
Since everyone's level of spicy tolerance is different, I like to start these reviews off with a little PSA for perspective... I LOVE spicy foods. My go-to snack is usually the pepperoncini, but I also enjoy whole jalapeños and chili peppers. I've beaten both the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin' Challenge as well as the Anchor Bar "Suicidal" wing challenge in Buffalo, New York (where buffalo wings are said to have originated). Popeye's Ghost Pepper wings I find to be extremely enjoyable, and I love them, but I don't even break a sweat when eating them (which is fine because they're so delicious). Pepper Jack cheese is my other go-to snack, but I've dabbled in other cheeses claiming to be laced with peppers such as habanero, ghost, and even Carolina Reaper. In most cases, even though I usually enjoy those products, the claims are exaggerated. Now, let's talk about this product. I'm giving it five stars. Not only is it VERY tasty, but it 100% delivers on its Carolina Reaper label. And you may regret that later... Going down, it's about as spicy as the ghost pepper and habanero laced cheeses I've had. It will make you sweat, especially if you eat too much in one sitting, but it's doable. The aftermath is where I can easily say this is the snack that bites back. I've now had this sausage twice, and while I deeply enjoy eating it, the atomic explosion that happens in my intestines later will say differently. There's no getting around it. The feeling is downright agonizing. I've only had one other food so spicy that I ended up throwing it up. That was a pack of six raw habaneros. Won't make that mistake again! This is the only other food I've had that was so spicy, the same thing ended up happening. It was about a 12 hour recovery time. And to be clear, this is absolutely on me and not the manufacturer. I asked for Carolina Reaper, and I sure as Hades received Carolina Reaper. Verdict? I have no plans to order this again for myself. Not because it isn't good or doesn't deliver on its promise. It absolutely does! It's because I'm not THAT stupid... That said, I'd highly recommend it for anyone who has an ungodly tolerance for spicy foods, loves a challenge, or wants to prank someone to the point of no return. Five stars, Pepper Joe's. Five stars.

Great heat, but not too much
This is a 4.5 star review, but not quite 5. I give the sausage 5 stars for heat- just as advertised! It's not so hot that you can't enjoy it, but for those of us with high heat tolerance, it hits the mark! Starts and finishes with the bite Carolina Reapers love to inflict. So why not 5 stars all across? Personally, it tastes too much like pepper (Carolina Reaper) and not enough sausage. The pepper's power is overriding the flavor of the sausage so for that, I give it 4 stars. I will likely buy this again once I'm out which will take a bit since I enjoy this as a treat and not an everyday staple. All in all, I recommend this and happy with my purchase!

Sorry to say, not worth the price
I had high hopes, but this one did not taste smoked to me and was drier then expected. For the high price, I'll not be buying it again

This gave me food poisoning.
I probably just got unlucky but it definitely still needs to be said. I've eaten spicy foods all my life, I can handle a lot, the hotter the better. Something was wrong with this product. Now, it's my fault for even eating it. The very end of it was dried out a bit and I didn't think that much of it, it just reminded me of salami, but it should have occurred to me that this meant it was exposed to air, but I blindly trusted it. One small slice of this, and around 4 hours later I became ill. I thought, okay maybe it's just me, so after recovery I tried a little more, and I then had what I can describe as the worst stomach ache I've ever experienced, and that's saying a lot. Even now I am very sick and for some reason I'm even running a fever. Now, I don't blame this on you per say, I should have known better especially the second time. But at the same time, some people don't have good immune systems, and this came close to sending me to the hospital, so there's no telling what it'd do to someone more vulnerable. So if you buy this, and the product is dryer on one end than the other, I implore you, do not eat it. The sausage has a slight taste similar to how kerosene smells, but that might be because this one is obviously spoiled. Another thing though, I ate enough of it to realize that the only seasoning this sausage does have, is spice. While I love spicy things, when all it is is some pepper extract and meat, you aren't going to end up with an impressive flavor. It doesn't even taste like a summer sausage, no tang, wasn't even salty, just a little spicy, and not even that much of that. So my advice to the company themselves, throw some pepper corns, garlic, and a little more salt in there. This is just bland heat, it's entirely awful.
