Good Little Utility Screens
These screens are very basic. Brightness control that looks like a volume up/down switch on a cell phone and a power button. They run the DisplayLink protocol over USB. I tested them on both my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit box and my Ubuntu Linux 13.10 64-bit box. The Windows setup was a bit weird to get working, but I guess that was to be expected for Windows. After 2 reboots for each monitor, I had my desktop background staring at me from each side. The little utility that sits in the system tray made it easy to assign one as a desktop extension to the left and one as a desktop extension to the right. With a max resolution of only 800x600, reading things on them is kind of difficult at first, but you can adjust the font sizes for each screen. Other than that, works great on Windows 7. As for Ubuntu Linux 13.10, it wasn't as point and click easy to get them working right off the bat, but with a couple of minor tweaks here and there in the xorg.conf file and restarting the X server, I was able to go into the monitor settings and do the same basic desktop extension assignments as I did with Windows 7. No big deal. I use these extra screens to keep an eye on system statistics. Run "htop" on one screen and "iftop" on the other. For their fairly cheap price, they serve a fantastic job. Oh, before I forget. These monitors come only with a USB cable. There's no external power supply. The USB cable has 2 connectors that plug into USB ports on one end and a mini-USB connector that plugs into the back of the screen. Both USB connectors are required to be plugged into the hub/computer or the screen does weird things and doesn't work right. It's not a major setback though if you have a multi port USB hub or a few unused USB 2.0 ports on the back of your computer. I have an old Belkin 7 port USB 2.0 hub. [ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ESN9GA/ ] It has 5 ports in the back and 2 on top. Perfect for the 4 ports required for the 2 screens I have now. I may buy a few more of these USB monitors in the near future for other projects.

Nice monitor, but it arrived broken.
I like the monitor. On the front of the box, it says that it is touchscreen, but I don't think that it is. That is fine with me as I only wanted this as a third monitor for an IM window. The low review is because the unit arrive with the kickstand broken off and missing and the metal bracket is severely bent around the area of the kickstand and USB cable. My guess is that somebody busted this up, returned it, and it was shipped to me as-is.

Crisp image, works well (Windows 7 needs driver download)
I bought this from Amazon (shipped through VIVITEQ... awesome, same-day shipping!) for use as both an over-the-lens teleprompter monitor, and a reflected thru-the-lens monitor, connected to an HP-mini laptop running Windows 7. It performs perfectly for both purposes. It arrived at my door within 24 hours of placing the order :^), and I quickly ran the installation, which appeared to hang near the end, possibly due to the stock driver's inability to set the laptop & UM-70's screen resolution to the necessary 800x400 +/-. I labored with it for an hour or so, with no success, and ne'r an image on the Lilliput. I then went to the USB Video Driver's website (DisplayLink) and downloaded their brand new, late 2009, Vista/Win 7 driver. This one installed perfectly, and "voila"... Lilliput had output! Keep in mind, you will need to change your computer's display properties to mirror/clone the same output to both monitors, but that is easy. Additionally, the provided USB cable has TWO USB plugs on one end, and a small one on the other, which plugs into the UM-70. The docs don't really specify whether to use one or both of the larger USB plugs, so I used both, and it works fine. Using both may provide a more adequate power source to the LCD? All in all, I am impressed with the picture quality.. good color, crisp, and am I am very happy with the purchase.

A serviceable unit
I was surprised at the quality and ease of these monitors. Once I found an updated driver online, it installed quickly and the screen was up and running. The resolution is very nice although you wouldn't want to watch an HD movie on this instead of an iPad. I use it as a second screen for a keyboard rig in pit orchestras and it very easily displays the information I need to see. The stand on the back is the only drawback. The kickstand design blocks the port when the stand is retracted so if you want to mount this flush on a surface, you'll have to remove the stand. Its cheap and breaks off easily so it won't be difficult, but should be made removable from the start. For the money, this is a very serviceable unit, even if it doesn't blow me away.

Perfect... for what it does.
I use this on an Intel NUC. I had to set up the OS on the NUC first with another mini HDMI adapter to a normal HDMI converter cable to get everything installed first. This is because the USB drivers, while plug and play, will not load before the OS is installed. After the OS was on the machine (Win7 Pro in my case) the thing took a minute to load the drivers and came up without issue. I then shut the machine down and booted to just the USB Lilliput and it came up (after the OS loaded). Admittedly not for every situation, but extremely handy for me. It keeps me from having to lug around a full sized monitor.

Be careful
I was intending to use this as my primary display on my spare desktop system. Windows 7 didn't like that idea, so I decided to use it as a handy second monitor on my main Windows 7 system. The software that it installs (DisplayLink) is like an infection that you can't get rid of. Once installed it freaked out my main video card driver so that neither display worked correctly. The obvious thing to do was to uninstall the newly installed software. No luck, the uninstall via control panel fails and each time I booted the computer the system threw massive amounts of system errors in the event viewer. Was finally able to google a dedicated program designed to do nothing but uninstall this software. What a bad idea..... I can appreciate that this wasn't an expensive purchase. I can also appreciate that it didn't do exactly what I wanted it too. However I feel that a better description of the product would have allowed me to make a more informed purchasing decision up front.

Need to up the specs on this
Hey, it works. But they haven't upgraded the specs on this since I purchased the first one 6 years ago! 800x600 resolution just doesn't fly anymore.

Beware, not what they promise
This monitor is nothing of what they promise. It doesn't work "plug-n-play", it crashes my PC when even after installing the proper drivers. The monitor doesn't even work on my Mac (which is usually forgiving of most faulty attachments). Don't waste your money or your time on this one.
