Black Quiet Boiling Kettle

Nice design & solid construction; Safe and Easy to use when connected to a GFCI outlet; Really quiet that I have to look at the on/off switch light to see when it goes off; Boils fast and a great value. I purchased this kettle over comparable models primarily based on its understated looks, slender profile, and value. I am very happy with the purchase. It seems sturdy and cleans up well. The fact that it's nearly silent is either this kettle's best selling point or biggest detractor. You can tell when it's heating by the orange light on the flip lever, which goes off after it boils. However, after several days of use I have yet to HEAR it turn off or notice much steam being released. This has taken some getting used to as my previous model sounds and puffs like a freight train.I highly recommend the kettle if you tiptoe around when a baby is asleep or have a pet afraid of whistling/whooshing noises. If you're prone to forgetting you've turned it on you'll probably be disappointed that there's no beep or other indicator that the water is hot. However, it heats to a boil extremely quickly, so turning it back on is no big deal.I imagine this will last for years of daily use, but will update if it doesn't hold up.

This kettle is whisper quiet. It's large and easy to handle with no heat on the exterior. The lid is really loud and slams when it closes. I hold the button open when I close the lid and it doesn't slam.

First of all, the green color is wrong- mine is more of a greyish blue. Not a deal breaker but I kinda liked the green shown in the pictures. So we’ve only used it a few times but so far it gets the water hot pretty quickly, it’s super quiet, and the automatic turnoff worked correctly. Also I like that the inner pot is all metal so I don’t have to worry about any issues with boiling water and plastic. What’s also nice is that the cord to the base can be wrapped around underneath so any excess cord is hidden, that means if it is placed near an outlet you don’t have to have a bunch of excess cord hanging out and getting dirty.The one thing I don’t like is that there isn’t a minimum water level marked anywhere I could find, but the instructions say there is. At least it mentions that the minimum amount is 2 cups of water so we just make sure there is at least that amount of water in there before we turn it on. The maximum water level is marked but it is very hard to see.Overall I am happy I bought this and I think it is pretty decent for the price.

Good quality and works great. It’s sturdy, heats up quickly, and keeps water hot for a long time. Doesn’t look filmsy at all. The 1.7L capacity is generous, which is perfect for multiple cups or larger needs.

This kettle fits the bill for what I need.Pros:1) No bright annoying blue light. The switch is quiet and a gentle red, when it boils you can hear it gently click up.2) Insulated. Not the most, but it does keep it warmer than those glass kettles.3) Large size. I can use it to quickly bring water to a boil for large pots.4) No boiling water touching plastic.Cons:1) Doesn't open all the way. Not too much of a big deal since I only boil water in it.2) Metal does scale, but that is easy to remove with vinegar or citric acid.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I was looking for an electric kettle that was quiet. This one is indeed quiet! The outside is barely warm so you can touch it. The auto shut off is wonderful.

The media could not be loaded. This does what it says it will do—boils water quickly. It is sturdy, and looks nice. It is however not quiet at ALL. It sounds like an airplane taking off.
