Live having a glass cover! It’s thick glass so I don’t think it will break easily. Love the look of it!

I Like glass instead of plastic covers because moisture from cooking does drip onto your food. It is heavy weight glass so you need to exercise care when taking in and out of microwave. Handle is soft plastic knob (silicone??) at top of cover. Washes easily. My adult son liked it so much I bought one for him as a birthday gift. 9/14/20 Update on cover : glass cracked while heating a mug of soup for one minute. Soup splattered on inside of glass and large cracks across glass resulted. Had to discard cover. Disappointed.

I was looking for a cover that would be large enough but still be manageable…this is just the ticket. Yes, glass is heavier and you should expect that, but eliminating plastics getting into every food item I microwave is worth it. What were we thinking all this time??? The knob is silicone, so you can handle hot items easily. I’m very happy with this purchase especially since it was shipped so quickly.

We decided to stop using our plastic microwave plate cover and to replace it with glass, and this product seemed to meet our requirements best. It does meet our requirements, which is to cover large plates while they are being heated in the microwave oven. But the lid is so heavy and awkward, that it takes away one star. The heaviness of the lid can challenge the wheel-ring below the rotating dish in our microwave oven, so if the plate and cover aren't perfectly centered, the rotating dish can slant and cause the wheel-ring to move out of it's bed, stopping the rotation of the plate. The pluses of this cover include the steam holes and the silicone handle, both of which are important, although it is sometimes a challenge to avoid getting steam burns from the stem shooting out of one of the steam holes when you try to take the lid off the plate after the heating process has finished. There has to be a better, safer way to cover our plates when we are heating them in the microwave, and this is apparently better than plastic, but it is far from perfect.

I love the size, and that I've gotten away from plastic getting into my food. It makes it so easy to clean. The size is perfect for all the things I'm putting into the microwave.

After 10 days of use, the black silicone handle separated from the glass cover while I was holding the product by the handle, the glass cover fell on my hardwood floor and broke to smithereens with shards of glass everywhere in my kitchen. Looking closely at the handle attachment mechanism that failed I found that the silicone handle was glued to a small piece of plastic on the inside of the cover: clearly inadequate for supporting the weight of the glass. The glass is not shatter-proof either Strongly recommend staying away from this product since it is a safety hazard

It does the job, but is heavy. I am a senior and have trouble just grabbing and moving around.

Finally, a glass cover that didn't arrive at my doorstep in shattered pieces! I ordered a couple different ones in the past and they didn't survive shipping. This one came well packaged in mid-quality styrofoam. It would have been nice if it was also in a thin bag or something to keep the bits from sticking to it. First impressions: Feels solid and fairly heavy duty, but not so heavy it's difficult to lift. Top of the handle is flat so it rests OK upside down.
