We sodded over our flower bed and used Fertilome New Lawn Starter Fertilizer. It worked like a charm and the sod is growing like crazy.

I spread on newly tilled/raked soil prior to putting down zoysia sod. Helped establish root growth in back yard last fall and again this spring in front yard. A bit expensive but what isn’t these days.

Really works

I put out new seed in the fall and used this and my seed came up almost immediately with watering. The grass has stayed green and healthy thru this cold winter.

Can't go wrong with Fertilome. They always have quality items. This starter fertilizer is perfect. The granules are bigger than the " Scottish" one, meaning they will feed longer, since it will take more time for them to breakdown in the soil. The NPK is better too. Not as strong as the " other" brand, so less of a chance of burning up the new grass. Makes the new grass come in a nice darker green, and also helps it grow faster and thicker. Much better than the " Scottish" starter fertilizer. That one is mostly pure nitrogen. This Fertilome will be my " go to" starter fertilizer from now on. It is priced right and has never been delivered damaged

Worked well on annual rye seed, hoping it works as well for tall fescue.

Didn't know what to expect but it worked with the grass seed, will reapply before winter so lawn will look even better next year
