I am 6'4 250 lbs. New to climbing. I was told D shape is good for rappelling,?

A D shape is not ideal for rappelling, you'd want an HMS (aka pear shaped) carabiner for rapelling.

Are these actual or Chinese knock offs? Once bitten, twice shy.

I used them and they worked as design, as to the actual place of manufacturing, so many things today are made in China, but these are UIAA certified so I believe it to be of good quality. And they held my weight as well as the children I used them on for learning to climb.
