You need a shoe paint to go over black. Use acetone (like you get at a beauty supply) all over the shoes to remove as much color as possible. Then get the color you need in Angelus Paint. It must be the paint to work. I think you'll be amazed.

It looks creamy colored in the jar, goes on clear but to me like most creams may darken the color of your shoe color a bit. Does not add any other color to your shoes.

Yes, it is. I believe it will be just what you are looking for. I always get this one. I have darker brown boots and it works great!

Q: Can the product in Black be used to condition black leather furniture?

You do not want to use shoe polish or creme to condition leather furniture. For top grain leather furniture you should use a good leather cleaner/shampoo once or twice a year and then use a good leather conditioner afterwards. You can keep the leather more supple by using the conditioner more frequently. If you have leather furniture that has "matched" pieces (lesser quality leather or perhaps vinyl on the sides, back and probably the sides of the cushions -- this is done to keep cost more reasonable) you should condition those areas more frequently. A good furniture store should be able to locate good leather shampoo and conditioner.
