Utterly delicious!
I had never had a Welsh Cake - or even heard of them - before seeing these listed on Amazon. I was intrigued, and decided to try them. My husband is possibly more into them than I am, saying they were one of the best things he's eaten. He particularly likes the currant ones. I've since ordered more directly from their website. They frequently have 15% off codes and they sell larger packs and you can select which flavors you'd like. They also have scones, but I prefer the Welsh cakes. Additionally, they sell griddled shortbread that's delicious. Welsh cakes have a dry texture, but they are great with something like double cream or lemon curd, among other jams. On their website, they even have box options that allow you to select a certain number of add-ons like this (picture is of one such order). Even butter is nice on them. They are denser than a typical cookie, but not as dense as most scones, and the outer layer has a subtle crispness. The quality is excellent, and they'd make a great gift!

Absolutely wonderful
Completely exceeded my expectations. Loved the taste. Pairs wonderfully with my morning tea. Highly recommend. Will be buying again.

Tastes good- watch for allergen sulfate
The small cakes are a nice change from my usual preference of English muffins or crumpets. They are a similar texture to a combination of a pecan sandy cookie, minus pecans and a dense biscuit dough. PLEASE BE AWARE...these contain SULPHATES so eat with caution if you have allergies. I did not see the ingredients in the list on the Amazon product site. It said go to manufacturer website.

So Tasty
If you like the dry texture of a scone, buy these. I warmed up and had with butter, so delicious.

Scrumptious!
These are wonderful. I wish I could afford to eat them every day! The currant and blueberry ones are my favorites, but all of them are delicious. A few seconds in the microwave, and they taste like they're fresh off the griddle!

Always wanted to try these.
Amazing product! I've always wanted to try out Welsh Cakes myself, but never had the chance to. They go great with tea as a dessert, as there is only some dryness but it's extremely soft. In my package there were 8 total, that had 4 each of blueberry and currant, making it a worthwhile value as they make them themselves. They didn't last long and I'll be certain to order more from Joe and Denise!

Hockey Pucks
Oh dear. I've just read so many positive reviews of these things and I feel like I'm not even talking about the same item at all! Maybe mine were stale? I didn't think to check for a sell by date. But seriously, these little baby chews were a major disappointment. First off...I thought they would be more or less the size of our English Muffins. Not! They are a two bite...okay, maybe three bite little solid biscuit, VERY dense and hard. Lots of chewing is required to get the taste, which is not unpleasant, but as others have complained, quite sweet. You will eat three or four of them, dipped in your coffee and probably not buy them again . If you happen to drop one on the floor....never mind. It will not break as these are indestructible! I've decided that these "Welsh Cakes" are probably best eaten right out of a Welsh kitchen, right out of a Welsh oven....maybe then they'd be worth the price.

Okay but....
It's been a long time since I've eaten Welsh cakes in Wales, but these did not seem as fresh as I would have liked, and more dry and firm than I remembered. But as I said it has been a long time since I ate them in Wales. So my memory may be off. As for flavor, I really enjoyed the blueberry. The currant flavor was not bad, but I'm not as much of a fan of currants as is my wife. She seemed to enjoy them. We will try the product again and have bought lemon curd and Derry Custard to try next time as suggested on the package. (We only used butter this time.)
