Great Product - you can make it easier to assemble.
The GentTent is a well-made product, and my version is for an enclosed inverter generator. (Westinghouse iGen4500DF dual fuel only ever run on propane). I spent some time 'practicing' with it and trying things out. Her's what's I found missing in the manual. On my generator the grommets at the front and back are different heights. The front to back and side to side measurements are different. You also need a tape measure to set the arms up. However, if you take one of the frame rods and some tape or a marker you can mark the rod and use it as a yardstick. Mine is marked at 6 1/2" ground to grommet for the front, 7 1/2" ground to grommet at the back, 24" for the side to side (23 to 25") and 35" for the front to back (34-36). So, I can assemble the frame without finding a tape measure. Also to help, I put some tape on the corners of the generator at the top of the grommets. If you are inclined and are sure of the locations, you can use marker instead. I've not yet tested this in the rain. I also laminated (waterproof!!!) a copy of the manual page 12 (layout sizes) and a diagram of the front panel of my generator as it is hidden when the GenTent is deployed. However, on my generator most controls are easily accessible by lifting the top flap/cover and peering down without opening the skirt. I'recommend the GenTent for anyone with a generator they need to run in the rain. PS their customer service is excellent too. They messaged to ensure I had the correct version and offered assistance in the setting up. SteveD

Great Investment! BUY IT!!!
I bought this generator running cover for my Westinghouse iGen 5000DFc in hopes of prolonging it’s life. I only use the generator to run a couple of essential circuits during outages, but those always come with bad weather, so again, I want to protect my investment. So, the putting together of this tent is pretty straight forward, but also has a couple of trip hazards. The key is to carefully read the instructions. Something that most of us hate to do. IT WILL PROBABLY TAKE AN EXTRA PAIR OF HANDS WHEN MOUNTING THE STRAP that wraps around the generator. While I did not have any problems with the installation, I did want to verify it with GenTent support. They quickly returned my email, verified my install, and offered to respond to any further questions. While the cover does seem a little pricey, it is of high quality, and offers a lot of functionality. A well thought out product overall. It fits well, offers great protection, and durability.

Good but not perfect
Good: nice quality cover/tarp that will keep your generator dry and out of the elements. Does what it is designed to do once set up and looks nice. Should handle all types of wet weather. Bad: the set up. Kind of a complex process the first time that you do it. Requires measurements which is nice for the flexibility between multiple size generators but can be an issue when setting up in the moment. If camping it’s done but if it’s more of an emergency and setting up for an outage, would prefer something that just snapped in place more easily. Once it is set up it’s hard to maneuver my generator with the cover on since you no longer have access to the handles.

Well made and worth the money
I bought this to protect my inverter generator. I have not put it to the test yet, but it seems very solid.

Works great to battle NW atmospheric river / winter storms.
Nice quality construction and neatly stores in optional storage bag.

Expensive, hard to use, weak plastic - but it does work
One of the few (only?) generator covers meant to be used while running - something critical if you are trying to supplement power during a weather related outage. The overall product does what it claims and works well but it's hard to assemble and easy to setup incorrectly (the extension arms can be attached in the wrong way and removing them to fix it is very hard). Accessing the generator while the cover is on is also hard but possible. It relies on the old tent flexible pole design - i.e. lots of force needed to make the parts align and they have a lot of tension loaded on them (so watch your eyes). Extension clip broken while inserting it - not due to misuse/excessive force, just brittle plastic. (Unrelated to the above difficulties in correcting mistakes - this was the first and only time this piece was touched). In the end it does work - the generator stayed dry during light rain. We shall see if it holds up in an actual storm situation though.

Great Product
This GenTent fits great with my Westinghouse iGen5000 inverter generator and has very recently held up nicely in a 70+ mph wind & thunderstorm we had last night. The material is very durable. I have to say I was a bit skeptical, but it has proved to be a great purchase to help protect my generator from the elements. One side of the generator may get wet depending on the storm direction, but the electrical face stays dry with the electronic panel apron that also came with the tent. I am truly satisfied with this product and highly recommend for your investment.

Must have for inverter generator!
Got to test this out DURING Milton last year as it rolled directly over us. Withstood the rain AND wind! Allowed us to keep the genny running throughout the storm! Great fit! Relatively easy to install and rugged! Stayed in place even in 110 mph + winds. Definitely did not expect it to stay on! Lol. Great product!

This is the second Gentent we have purchased as we got a new generator. These are amazing and work fantastic and protect all the electrical plugs etc. Instructions were clear, a little hard to put on with one person. Would highly recommend.

J'ai une Duccar 8500 inverter et la housse est vraiment facile à installer et de bonne qualité! Je prenais une chance en achetant d'une boite déjà ouverte et inspecté à moindre coût et tout était parfait!

It works as advertised it keeps the weather off the generator only issue I have you definitely need two people to properly put it on and the plastic supports are a little flimsy.

Received the product yesterday and put it together. yeah its a little tough when you are by yourself , but I put all the corner pieces together on the strap, and it was quite the challenge. However after playing around with it for about 15 minutes ,, I decided to just get some duct tape and tape the corner pieces to where I wanted them and then tighten the strap took less than 5 mins.... the rest was super easy . the tent looks like good quality , and looking forward to trying it in the rain and snow. I also watched, the installation vides on the gentent website which helped me a lot ! Overall I'm impressed with the product !!!
