Easy to handle.
SOOO easy to install, using basic tools I already had. Works like a charm & looks even better than my original one. Y'all don't even wanna know why I had to order it in the first place. 🤦♀️ Involved a faulty handle locking me out, leading to being stuck on my porch til after 4 am. I'll spare you the other details. It was funny, but not, all at the same time. I 'handle-d' it well.

Replaced old one with no outside key locking
Fit perfectly in my sliding patio door. Old lock would fail to lock properly and was insecure. Also, it could not be opened or locked from the outside. This one has a lock with a regular house type key. Easy to install. But after moving and changing locks quite a few times, I still cannot understand why the bolts that go thru the door are so hard to install. They have thread all the way to the end, and it is very hard to line them up with threaded hole in the other side, which you cannot see, and cannot feel with the square end of the bolt All it takes is a little shoulder on the end of the bolt, so you can feel when it is properly lined up with the threaded hole. Manufacturers take notice!!!

Decent product, but you need a Dremel tool with a heavy cut-off wheel
So, I finally got this to fit on my Pella sliding glass door after about an hour and a half of work and fiddling with it. The directions are utter garbage, but the video included on this site is helpful. Make sure you watch it. You need to cut through the metal spindle of the thumb latch, as well as the metal spindle of the lock, because (as they say in the video) "The tail teeth on both sides must be in the lock cylinder at the same time to function." The tail teeth? Umm...it's called the spindle, bro, and that's what turns the latch mechanism. Anyway, the spindle for the keyed part is scored for "easy break off" but it's scored in the wrong place (at least for my sized door). Therefore, I had to cut it with the Dremel. I also had to cut the thumb latch spindle to the proper length. Don't mess up either one of these cuts or else your lock won't work. Also, lining up the screw holes is really difficult. I recommend partially inserting the screws before putting in the two spindles, and then drawing the bolt side latch component with pencil (on the door) so you know EXACTLY where it lines up. One more thing--if you don't have wide preset holes on the inside of the door, you will have to shave down the metal raised portions on door-facing part (underside) of the handle, otherwise your inside handle won't be flush against the door. If you shave these down, you need to use the shorter screws to attach to the locking mechanism. Don't forget to lube the entire thing up with 3 in One oil because it is as dry as a bone inside the latch and the lock. But hey, it works.

Install was a pain because of the cylinder lock
The handle itself is nice. I purchased this because the lock broke on our sliding patio door and we didn’t have an exterior lock on it so I thought, rather than just get a new mortice lock, might as well get a new handle with a cylinder lock and keys. As expected I had to trim the metal piece from the exterior lock inside AND the interior switch to lock it from inside. The piece of metal coming from the exterior lock is notched so I was able to use tin snips to cut that with, but there are no notches coming from the little slider that’s on the inside. I’m not sure if the metal is thicker or because it’s not not the tin snipped wouldn’t work but basically the tinsnips don’t work on that. I had to buy a dremol to cut that piece with. I have no idea what everyone else is using to cut these pieces with but youre going to have to cut them. What I did was set the outside handle on the door and make a mark in the very middle of the door using the top screw that holds the mortice lock. Then I did the same with the little handle on the interior and made a mark halfway through the door again using the bottom screw on the mortice as a reference. Taking the old handle off and installing new handle is extremely simple, but because of this locking mechanism, it was a bit more difficult. My advice is buy or borrow a dremol and wear safety glasses while cutting so the sparks don’t blind you. I’m very curious what others are doing, especially people who are not handy or don’t use power tools. The instructions said nothing about it and the video obviously makes it look easy lol. I’m giving them three stars just because I don’t know what I was supposed to do if I didn’t have one of these tools And it took longer and was harder to install because of this. At least notch the piece of metal on the interior handle so I could have used tin snips..

It is what I am looking for ( my patio door frame width 1.5 inch). The menu is notoriously short - have to do mind storming myself. In overall a good product that you can not find at home depot

A little mobile when you fasten to patio door: my last solitary handle had a platform base to stabilize the handle better. But it works ok… just unsure how long it will last

The instruction is confusing. I ended up follow people on YouTube to install the lock. Installation is easy.
